Fortnite Week 5 Challenges Guide: Meowscles’ Mischief
Epic Games released the Week 5 challenges for Fortnite battle royale this week. This was an insane week for the game considering we got a major update that included the release of the long-awaited helicopters. Players can now use the Choppa in-game, which is a big help for completing these challenges.
Meowscles Is the Next Challenge Giver
With the fifth week of battle royale happening this week, we are halfway done with Season 2 already. Now that the wait is over for a new season, it is no surprise that it is already zooming by so fast. As with any new week in Fortnite, there are new battle royale challenges to complete.
Following the trend for the first four weeks of challenges, the Season 2 missions this week are themed around a particular character in the game. In the case of the Week 5 challenges (and likely next week as well), we have none other than the lovable cat man Meowscles.
Meowscles is by far one of the fan-favorite new characters and skins that were introduced in Season 2. He is also one of the five new bosses that you can find at one of the new named locations this season. Like with TNTina and Brutus, he also has some challenges to give you.
Fortnite Week 5 Challenges List
The Week 5 challenges in Season 2 are known as the Meowscles’ Mischief missions. Like with the other two bosses that happened in the past this season, completing most of the challenges this week and next week will give you the chance to unlock the Shadow or Ghost form of his cat skin.
But to do that, you are going to need to know what the missions are this week and how to complete them. You can find the full list of the Fortnite Week 5 challenges below:
- Search for three chests at Misty Meadows or Salty Springs
- Eliminate five players with assault rifles from at least 50 meters away
- Consume fish to gain 400 shields or health
- Deal 200 damage to players while using the creeping cardboard
- Survive a fall from at least five stories high nine times
- Deal 100 damage to henchmen with a pickaxe
- Visit Coral Cove, Fortnite Stack Shack, and Crash Site in the same match without swimming
- Kick a soccer ball 100 meters
- Deal 400 damage to players with miniguns
- Visit Shipwreck Cove, The Yacht, and Flopper Pond
As always, there are 10 new challenges for players to complete this week. What is crazy about this week, in particular, though, is the fact that we have some of the hardest challenges that we have seen all season. Many of these are shaking up normal challenges and making them a little bit harder to complete.
Fortunately, that’s where we come in as we are going to give you tips on how to complete all 10 of them, starting with the Fortnite Stack Shack challenge.
Where to Find the Fortnite Stack Shack, Coral Cove, and Crash Site
First up is easily one of the hardest challenges this week, which is why we are going to go ahead and cover this one first. You need to visit Fortnite Stack Shack, Coral Cove, and Crash Site. These are all landmark locations, a continuing string of challenges that we have had all season long.
Players need to visit all three landmarks to complete this mission. However, the catch this time around is that you have to visit all three of them in the same match or else you won’t beat it. While we have seen this before in the game, this is one of the hardest yet.
Also, players have to contend with the fact that there is another twist in the challenge with not being able to swim at all while doing the mission. This is a problem for this one, in particular, as you will see in a moment with the locations, they are all found on different islands on the map.
While they are somewhat close to one another and certainly doable in a specific way within the same match, it is rather difficult to do it all if you can’t even swim around the map between the islands. These problems, though, can be solved and we are going to help you with that.
First, here are the locations of all the places you need to go to, starting with the order that you should go in. We recommend that you go in our specific order as it will help you save some time in the end and be able to go through each of them more easily.
To begin with, we recommend heading first to Fortnite Stack Shack. This location is an unusual place that you might not have ever seen before in the game up until this point. This is because it is found on a remote island that most players will have likely not visited until now. After all, there was no reason to do so.
The Fortnite Stack Shack location is on a really small island that is found northwest of Holly Hedges, off the coast of the western side of the Season 2 battle royale map. There is a string of very small islands that you can see here and the Stack Shack one is the location at the bottom of them.
When you arrive at the Fortnite Stack Shack location, you are going to find a strange landmark location that features a singular shack atop a large rock island. There isn’t anything else here at all and it is high up, which makes it difficult to reach.
From there, you are going to need to visit the second location of Coral Cove. This is found much farther north, northwest of Sweaty Sands. There is a long island here where almost the entirety of it is dedicated to this strange coral-themed village.
Once you have visited Coral Cove, you are ready for the third and final location on the map, and that is the Crash Site. From Coral Cove, it is rather easy to get to this location. There is a massive island directly east of Coral Cove and west of Pleasant Park.
On the eastern side of this island is a green crashed airplane and that is where you need to head to last in this mission. For visiting all of them in the easiest way possible, we recommend grabbing a boat or one of the new helicopters first.
The Choppa is the best option for this as it is relatively fast and will allow you to visit these spots without ever having to accidentally touch the water, and ruin it all. If you are going to the Fortnite Stack Shack location first, we recommend grabbing a helicopter at the field north of Holly Hedges or the one found at The Rig.
Where to Search Chests and Consume Fish
With that crazy challenge out of the way, we can get to some of the more simple ones like the next one. You need to search for three treasure chests at Misty Meadows or Salty Springs. This is a standard, by the book challenge here that you can do across multiple matches if you want.
We recommend heading to either location first when you jump out of the battle bus so that you don’t miss out on any of the chests there. Other players will be completing this challenge, so be sure to be quick about this as you could easily run out of chests at these locations. Thankfully, three isn’t a whole lot.
The following challenge requires you to eliminate players with an assault rifle from at least 50 meters away five different times. This is another one that you can take your time with, so feel free to aim for just one elimination per match. 50 meters is a significant number but not too far. As such, we recommend just going after players that seem rather far away to you.
For the next challenge, we need to consume fish to gain 400 health or shields in total. This one could take a while, so feel free to just consume some fish per match until you get it or dedicate a whole Team Rumble match to just eating fish the entire time.
You’re going to need a fishing rod first for this challenge, which can be found near most of the watery-themed named locations like Sweaty Sands. Once you have one, find one of the swirling white circle spots in the water where there are fish.
Start fishing for them until you find one that you can consume and then eat it. You will likely only get a little bit of health or shields from the fish, depending on which you get, so be sure to keep doing this as much as you can until you reach 400 health or shields gained in total.
How to Survive a Fall and Deal Damage Using Creeping Cardboard
This next challenge is another trickier one. You need to deal 200 damage to players while using the creeping cardboard item. Introduced in Season 2, it is the new form of the bush from Chapter 1. You can hide in this cardboard box and, hopefully, not be seen by enemies.
Your best bet is to head to one of the new named locations from this season: The Shark, The Yacht, The Grotto, The Agency, and The Rig. These are where we have found cardboard box items before and they are popular destinations where a lot of players go to.
Once you have found one of the creeping cardboards, equip it and start moving around the map until you find an enemy player. You don’t necessarily have to be hidden so long as you are wearing it. 200 damage isn’t a ton, equal to around two players with only full health or one player with full health and shields, but you can take your time if you need to.
The next one is also rather difficult and requires you to survive a fall from at least five stories high nine different times. This is pretty insane but something that you might already do. One way to do this is to find a high point on the map that is guaranteed to be at least five stories high.
Places that might work for this include the lighthouse and the mountains on the map, the latter of which might work best. Once you are there, make sure to have a ton of materials with you beforehand. This is because what you want to do is hug the side of the wall or mountain you are jumping off of.
This will allow you to build while you are falling so that you survive the landing. The other possible way of doing this is maybe cheating the system in Team Rumble where you can glide. Fall down and then glide at the last second to survive. Do this nine times and you will be good to go.
For the following challenge, you need to deal 100 damage to henchmen with only pickaxes. Henchmen are found at the safe houses or the five new named locations. Head to one of these and start hitting them with your pickaxe. Team Rumble is recommended as you are likely to die doing this.
How to Kick a Ball and Find Shipwreck Cove, Flopper Pond
The next challenge is to kick a soccer ball 100 meters, which is quite a long distance. To find the soccer ball, we recommend heading to Pleasant Park where there is a large and opened up soccer field this season. Find the soccer ball there before anyone else does and start to kick it until you can get 100 meters.
The penultimate challenge this week is to deal 400 damage to players with miniguns. This one is particularly hard because it has to be miniguns, which are sometimes hard to find and 400 is a high number. To find miniguns, we recommend finding the boss who has one and taking them out for theirs.
Alternatively, you could try to find one in the supply drops that fall out of the sky. Again, Team Rumble will be great for this one since it allows for respawns, so there are plenty of players to damage over and over. Keep this up until you get 400 damage in total.
Last but not least, you need to visit Shipwreck Cove, The Yacht, and Flopper Pond. Unlike the Fortnite Stack Shack challenge, these can be done in different matches, if necessary. The Yacht is easy as it is a named location in the northeastern corner of the map.
Shipwreck Cove is a landmark location found in the southeastern corner of the map, southeast of the mountains there. There is a small cove of water that you can see on the map that goes inland a bit here and that is where you will find the elusive Shipwreck Cove.
Lastly, Flopper Pond is found directly northeast of Holly Hedges and northwest of Weeping Woods. It is a small pond where you can fish for the Flopper there. Visiting these three locations will complete this challenge and all of the ones that Meowscles has for us this week.
Fortnite Week 5 Challenges Rewards
Like previous weeks, all of these challenges will give you the same rewards of 40,000 experience points each for a total of 400,000 points.
