It’s time again for the Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown as players from around the world gather together for a massive tournament on Twitch. Popular players and streamers will be competing for a share of the massive prize pool that is being offered in this surprisingly large tournament event.

Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown Dates and Times

The Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown kicks off today, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 and will go for two days full of intense action for fans to watch. Of course, being that this is on Twitch, fans will be able to watch the entire event on the streaming platform live as it is happening right then.

To start with, you’ll need to know when exactly the competition will begin. It will start today at 1 pm PT (4 pm ET) so it is likely already beginning if you are reading this right now. It will go until the first day of competition is over and then it will pick back up again tomorrow with another tournament.

Fans can tune in and watch all the action tomorrow, Thursday, August 22 at the same exact time of 1 pm PT (4 pm ET). As for where you can watch all the action, you’ll want to do one of two things. First and foremost, the official Twitch Rivals channel will be hosting both days of the tournament there.

How to Watch Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown

However, there will likely be multiple matches going on at once or, at the very least, it will only be able to focus on one player or team at a time. As such, the main Twitch Rivals channel will be focusing on participating partner and affiliated streamers who the channel will be spotlighting.

That means that you could tune in there and not see your favorite player(s) participating in the tournament. Thankfully, though, you don’t have to worry as there will be co-streaming allowed for this event. As such, you can expect a vast majority of the players participating (if not all of them) to also be streaming on their respective channels.

So, for instance, if you are interested in watching the unbelievably kind and talented CouRageJD take out his fellow streamers in battle royale, be sure to head to his personal channel and you can find out if he is also co-streaming his matches. That way, you can see everything that’s happening from his perspective.

How the Event Will Work

There are well over a hundred streamers and personalities who are participating in the event with a grand total of an impressive 160 players that were invited. All of them will be competing in the Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown for a share of the giant $400,000 prize pool, which is quite a lot for an event like this.

Players will be competing in two days of competition with two separate competitions being held on both days. The first is the duos tournament and there will be a squad’s tournament, too. Players will be competing against the other streamers in creative and custom matches for the event.

We don’t know too much just yet about how the tournament will work or how the prizes will be divided up between the players other than streamers will be given rewards depending on how well they do. Both the winners and losers of matches will get a share of the prize pool in the tournament.

Popular Streamers Who Are Participating in the Event

What we do know, though, is the full list of players who will be competing in the Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown. There are 160 players and all of them are well known streamers and professional players who have strong communities on Twitch and are known for being battle royale players.

Since there are so many players participating, we aren’t going to list everyone here but there are some notable personalities that you will likely recognize who are competing. Like we mentioned before, the kindhearted and beloved streamer CouRageJD is competing but others are, too.

Some of the FaZe Clan gang will be there like 72hrs as well as other popular streamers like Tfue, one_shot_gurl, SypherPK, NICKMERCS, sparkles_qt, Aydan, and many more. If you have a fan favorite streamer who plays Fortnite and is popular, chances are that they’re in this competition.

Ninja Isn’t Competing; Here’s Why

Well, that is except one streamer of the game. You might be wondering about the Fortnite streamer of all streamers Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Well, unfortunately, Ninja is not part of the event and this is because of the simple fact that this is a Twitch-based event.

If you didn’t know already, Ninja made headlines everywhere recently when he departed Twitch at the launch of season X to move exclusively over to Mixer from now on as his streaming platform. This was a game-changing move that shocked everyone in the industry.

It is likely due to a deal that Microsoft and Mixer gave to Ninja that was worth making the switch from Twitch over to them. Since then, Twitch has made it clear that it is wiping away Ninja’s former use of Twitch by putting links on his former channel to other popular streamers on the platform.

Though Ninja isn’t participating in the Fortnite Twitch Rivals Showdown, the event should be exciting as always with some major personalities competing. With two days of competition happening, be sure to check back in the next couple of days for all the results from the event including who won and everything else.
