Fortnite TNTina’s Trials Week 3 Challenges Guide
Epic Games is continuing the string of weekly releases as expected in Fortnite Season 2 of Chapter 2. The Fortnite Week 3 challenges are here to complete. We have a variety of tasks that players can do in exchange for rewards including landing at Hydro 16.
Fortnite Week 3 Challenges Arrive as TNTina’s Trials
The Fortnite Week 3 challenges take on a different vibe than the ones we had in previous weeks. For the first two weeks of battle royale in Season 2, they were known as the Brutus’ Briefing missions, themed like they were before in Season X of Chapter 1.
However, after two weeks of doing Brutus’ dirty work, it seems that we have switched things up and are doing missions for another miniboss this time around. For the next two weeks, it is all about TNTina. The TNTina’s Trials are here for Week 3 with a slew of new challenges to complete.
If you’re a fan of the new skin character, you can complete her challenges for the next couple of weeks and earn a new skin variant, depending on your Ghost or Shadow preference.
Full Fortnite Week 3 Challenges List
The Fortnite Week 3 challenges are here with 10 in total to complete this week for some of the same rewards. You can find the full list of all 10 new missions that TNTina has for you as part of the first week of TNTina’s Trials this week below:
- Eliminate five players using explosive weapons
- Search for 10 treasure chests at Holly Hedges or Retail Row
- Destroy 10 structures in the game with propane tanks
- Catch air with a motorboat five times
- Visit 15 different landmarks
- Use an upgrade station to sidegrade weapon three times
- Deal 500 damage to bosses
- Land at The Rig, Hydro 16, and Logjam Woodworks
- Destroy five sentry cameras or sentry turrets
- Eliminate two players in a row without using shield or healing items in between the eliminations
As you can see, the 10 challenges this week that TNTina has for us aren’t the most interesting, but they give good rewards, nonetheless. There are some difficult challenges, though, like finding landmarks that you might not know the location of in the game currently.
To help with this challenge and more, we are going to give you our detailed guide at every mission available as part of the Week 3 TNTina’s Trials.
Where to Land at Fortnite Hydro 16, Logjam Woodworks, and The Rig
It begins with the biggest challenge of them all: land at The Rig, Hydro 16, and Logjam Woodworks. These three locations will be a little tougher to do for some players if you don’t already know where these spots are. Fortunately, that is where we come in with our guide.
The Rig is by far the most obvious location. You already see the named location on the main battle royale map in Season 2 of Chapter 2.
Instead of changing up the existing named locations, the new season opted for adding only new locations instead. You can visit five new named areas that beef up the map considerably, including The Rig.
If for some reason you can’t find The Rig, we’ve got your back. The Rig is an oil rig structure off the shore of the main island in the southwestern section of the map.
It is just southwest of Slurpy Swamp, not too far away from it in the middle of the ocean. Head there at the start of a match while gliding from the battle bus. Land on top of The Rig named location for it to count for this first part of the challenge.
From there, you also need to visit Hydro 16 and Logjam Woodworks. They are more difficult to find in the game since they are landmarks. These are important locations on the island, but they don’t have the name on the map as The Rig and others do.
If you haven’t explored the island or didn’t do challenges from Season 1, you might not know where these are. Thankfully, all three locations to land are relatively close to one another in the southwestern section of the island.
Hydro 16 is east of Slurpy Swamp along the river. It is the huge dam facility in front of the dam, the same dam built for the large lake that includes Misty Meadows and Lazy Lake.
Like before, you need to land at Hydro 16 for this challenge to count. Lastly, we have Logjam Woodworks, another landmark in this area of the island found northwest of Slurpy Swamp and south of Holly Hedges. It is a big lumber factory that you can see somewhat on the main map.
Since you must land at these three locations, we recommend doing each one in three separate matches or try to do all of them in a Team Rumble match. Since that game mode has redeployment as a permanent feature, you can glide over and over to each of the three spots.
How to Use Propane Tanks and Eliminate with Explosives
For the second challenge this week, you need to eliminate five opponents using explosives. This includes all the explosive weapons like rocket launchers, grenades, and the like. So long as you use one of them to take out an enemy, it will count towards this mission.
You can use the new proximity mine weapon, which is likely the reason behind this mission. Proximity mines work as a trap. You can throw them down and wait for an enemy to walk through and be blown up.
Unfortunately, the damage of them is only 50 each, so you will need several of these to take out most opponents. Five opponents in total are a lot. We recommend getting one elimination per match even if it takes you five matches for this one objective.
Next is to search for 10 treasure chests at Holly Hedges or Retail Row. We see this standard challenge often. Chests are common at both locations, though, we recommend Holly Hedges. It is less popular and has a good number of chests in most houses.
You can take your time with this and try to get a couple of chests per match. Head to either of these locations at the beginning of each match so that other players don’t beat you there.
You can remedy this some in Team Rumble since there is a max of only 40 players per match rather than 100 in most other game modes. Next up, you must destroy 10 structures with propane tanks. TNTina is all about explosives, so it is time to put that to the test in this challenge.
The best way to do this is to head to The Rig. Once you are there, find the red propane tanks grouped together and destroy them close to buildings. This might take several explosions since you must blow up 10 structures, so feel free to take your time.
How to Catch Air with a Motorboat
Up next is the challenge where you need to catch air with a motorboat five times at least. First, you need to find a motorboat, which you can find at the water-based named locations.
Some of our favorite spots include The Agency, Dirty Docks, Misty Meadows, Lazy Lake, and the like. Misty Meadows and Lazy Lake are good for having multiple boats and a close place to get some air.
The large lake leads to the dam next to Hydro 16 in the other challenge, so run to the dam and you can fly off it. Unfortunately, this will only count for one of the times that you are catching air. You will likely have to do this again in the same match or once for five matches in total.
Next up is to visit 15 different landmarks on the map. If you have visited Hydro 16 and Logjam Woodworks, this is something that you will likely contribute to.
There are dozens of these around the island. Getting 15 isn’t too hard, but it will take time to do so. This can be done across multiple matches, of course. We recommend looking for areas that have large buildings or structures but aren’t named locations. Chances are, it is a landmark like Risky Reels.
Then you will need to use the upgrade station to sidegrade a weapon three times. This is three separate times (though you could do it in a row if you want) across matches. Upgrade stations are common at each of the original named locations in Chapter 2.
Our recommendation is Holly Hedges. There are a lot of them, especially at the garden store near the middle of the named location. Interact with it to sidegrade your weapon, but you will need some materials to do so, so be sure to gather them up beforehand.
The sidegrading feature upgrades a weapon to become a higher rarity. We recommend doing this to low rarity weapons like commons and uncommons.
How to Deal Damage to Bosses and Destroy Sentries
Now you need to deal 500 damage to bosses, which is a relatively new mechanic this season. Bosses are characters like TNTina and Brutus, who you can find on the map in various locations and take them out. 500 damage won’t take you long to do, so just attack a boss in each match you do until you get it.
The problem is locating the boss themselves. Each of the five new named locations in Season 2 has one: The Rig, The Yacht, The Grotto, The Agency, and The Shark. Head to each of these early on, gear up, and take them out before someone else does.
Destroying five sentry cameras or turrets is the next challenge. These are also new NPC bots that run into at the five newly named locations. You want to find one of the five vaults, each one being at those spots.
At the front of these vaults, you will find the cameras and the sentry turrets, the latter of which you need to watch out for as they attack you in defense of the valuable loot inside the vaults. You need to destroy five of these in total, so you may need to do this in a few matches.
Lastly, eliminate two players without using shield or healing items between the two eliminations. In this tricky and super specific situation, you need to take out a player and another in the same match without healing yourself in between.
Technically, there is no time limit given for this. However, you must be in the same match and can’t use an item to heal yourself, so you could take your time with this. You could get an early elimination and then wait a while to get another when you can.
Or, you could just find easier players earlier in the match and take them out within succession with something like a shotgun for quick eliminations.
Fortnite Week 3 Challenges Rewards
Each of these challenges will give you the same reward of 40,000 experience each for a total of 400,000 experience for all 10 challenges currently available in the Fortnite Week 3 TNTina Trials. However, they will help you work towards a special reward next week.
