Fortnite Survey Hints at Lord of the Rings, My Hero Academia, Gundam, and More

It looks like Epic Games has some huge plans in store for Fortnite battle royale if some recent teases are to be believed. The developer is likely looking to the future regarding what crossovers will come down the road, and a recent Fortnite survey possibly gave us a glimpse at some of them.

Fortnite Survey Reveals Possible Crossovers

This Fortnite survey was caught by ShiinaBR, a well-known Fortnite data miner who has accurately leaked a good amount of info in the past on Twitter. The Twitter user noted that they were sent a Fortnite survey to their email recently, asking for their thoughts on different crossovers.

At the time of writing this, I will note here that I have not received this Fortnite survey on any of the three accounts that I have, but that does not mean that this is not true. Epic Games may be only sending this out to a select group of players, which is not unheard of as I have received similar surveys in the past.

With all of that out the way, the data miner stated on Twitter that the Fortnite survey included asking their opinion on the various characters and franchises that could have a crossover in Fortnite. Essentially, this was the developer gauging interest in each of the respective collaborations.

What is fascinating about this whole situation is that the survey includes some well-known movie, comic, anime, and other franchises that players will likely know well. Some of these we heard about due to the Apple and Epic Games trial, but others are mentioned for the first time in this survey.

Previous Fortnite Surveys Revealed Characters Early

ShiinaBR did not share all of the characters and collaborations mentioned in the Fortnite survey, but just the “most interesting ones.” If the survey included these names and franchises, that does not guarantee a crossover in the future.

At the same time, though, it is worth mentioning that a past survey of the game included the Guggimon skin before coming to the game in this current Season 7 battle pass. This shows that these surveys can leak some information about what could come in the future.

With all of that in mind, there are several different categories that the Fortnite data miner broke the survey names into, starting with the musical artists. While most of these are crossovers with fictional series, some are teasing collaborations with real-world celebrities and personalities.

Music and Games Mentioned in the Survey

Some interesting artists include Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, Da Baby, Khalid, and more. The next category is the TV shows section where it includes both animated and live-action shows. Some notable names here are The Witcher (based on a video game), She-Ra, Dragon Ball Z, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Breaking Bad

However, some truly bizarre names are mentioned in this section, like Ted Lasso and How I Met Your Mother. After that, we come to the fascinating category, in my opinion, that has to do with crossovers with other video games, something that is still relatively limited in Fortnite.

Many of them are for older games and franchises, but well-known ones, like the Uncharted series, Final Fantasy (which would be amazing), Splatoon, Angry Birds, and even Borderlands, which already happened in the past. But there are a couple of unreleased games mentioned, like Ghostwire Tokyo mentioned.

Possible Comics and Movie Crossovers

From there, we come to the comics, manga, and anime categories that include some of the fan favorites today. Some possible collaborations include Spider-Gwen (but not Peter Parker oddly), other superheroes, a couple of My Hero Academia characters, and some Gundam characters. The latter has some surprising mentions.

There are plenty of influencers mentioned in the survey, like Charli D’Amelio, Dr Lupo, TimtheTatMan, etc. There is a movies category, too, with plenty of blockbuster hits like Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Pokemon, and The Eternals.

There are some odd mentions, like National’s Lampoon Vacation, Scream, and the recently released Disney film Jungle Cruise. After that, we come to the anime and cartoons that we could see in the future. This includes Looney Tunes, Transformers, Invincible, more Gundam, Sword Art Online, Jujutsu Kaisen, Darling in the Franxx, Spongebob, Family Guy, and more.

More Video Game Characters We Could See in Fortnite

And last but not least, there is the video game characters list, which is honestly the most epic-sounding one in the survey. Unlike the general game list, these are specific characters that survey participants are asked about, lending credence that we could see them in the future.

They include Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses, Luigi, Captain Price of Call of Duty, Minecraft Steve, GTAV protagonists, Joel from The Last of Us, some Resident Evil characters, Snake from the Metal Gear series, and Ratchet.

What is most interesting about this part is that it includes characters already in the game, like Kratos from God of War and Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series. This shows that there is a strong possibility that at least one of these characters will show up in Fortnite someday.

In many ways, it is starting to look like Fortnite might be giving Super Smash Bros. Ultimate a run for its money in terms of being the ultimate video game collaboration, especially with the other pop culture franchises that are in it. More than likely, not all of these mentioned will come to the game, especially some weirder ones, but it shows that Epic is at least considering anime and more video game characters for crossovers.
