Fortnite Streamer Under Fire for Alleged Child Abuse During Live Stream
Warning: Readers may find the contents of this article disturbing.
We’ve seen some egregious acts on stream over the past few years. From MrDeadMoth slapping his wife to Alinity throwing her cat, a lot of streamers have come under fire for abuse caused while streaming.
We thought the two above were the worst this year. It appears Fortnite streamer MajesticUnicorn is trying to one-up them all, as a recent stream of hers caught by Twitter user Vure89 shows.
Fortnite Streamer Taking “Bite Me” Too Literally
Tagging Twitch and their support team, Vure posted a video of Fortnite streamer MajesticUnicorn on Twitter. In the footage the streamer hits, screams at, and even bites her child for bothering her while she streamed.
The tweet went viral and drew immediate condemnation for Unicorn. Many tried finding out where she lived and tagged the accounts of local police and child services.
One user tweeted Unicorn calling her a horrible mother and hoping she lost everything. She responded, “Someone has too much time on their hands and goes around being rude to people that doesn’t even know…”.
The message didn’t last long. Twitter and Twitch locked her accounts preventing her from streaming and tweeting.
Isaac’s Take: Analysis
Scolding your child is one thing, and hitting them is another, but biting them? It’s an utterly despicable act. Child services should be indeed involved.
We’ll see the worse side of humanity as streaming grows. Everyone is coming out of the woodwork to try and make their fortune there, but to see footage where a streamer hits her child live is shocking.
As situations like this continue to rise, one must ask: At what point do police need to start patrolling the platform? It feels way too soon at this point. But, you can be sure it’ll be something brought up in the future.
Neither company commented on the matter yet, nor has a punishment beyond the locked accounts been issued officially, We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
