Fortnite Solo Hype Nite Player Accused of Cheating
The most recent competitive event to happen in Fortnite was the Solo Hype Nite. The exciting tournament finally returned to battle royale with the typical weekly Friday and Saturday events. But the event was met with concern as one of the players may have cheated.
Fortnite Solo Hype Nite Player Has Odd Stats
One of the European players from the Fortnite Solo Hype Nite event came in second place, doing rather well for themselves in the event. The problem with the placement is the scores and results the player had in the event.
The player in question is InvalidMCPUser, someone who came in second place during the Fortnite Solo Hype Nite event with some odd stats. They were able to make it to second place with only three eliminations in the entire event.
What makes this even odder is that the player only participated in seven matches and won six of them. This means they won a staggering three matches with no eliminations whatsoever. This seems highly illogical, hence, the community believing that they have cheated.
Reddit user lukepanda200 posted to the official sub-Reddit page for the competitive side of the popular battle royale game with their concern for what happened. They noted the player in question came in second place with only having three kills period.

They even posted a screenshot from the tournament results that prove this is the case. The picture reveals the accused player participated in seven matches in total and won six of them. Their average eliminations per match were around 0.4 kills in each one.
Their average placement was around 1.1, meaning they generally did well in each of the matches. And the average points they received for each of the matches were around 15 points. The Fortnite Solo Hype Nite event is all about the points a player earns rather than wins.
While in the tournament, players compete in various matches and earn points for things they do. This includes getting eliminations, winning the whole match, getting second place, and so on. There is a max to how many points a player can get per match.
The tournament caps each player’s points at 16 points per match. It means you could potentially get enough eliminations per match to go over 16 points, but the tournament will cap you at that number regardless. So, it makes it even more surprising the average points for the user were 15.
This is odd because the player only got three eliminations in total. The user ended up with a total of 105 points and the results screen breaks down the points into what made it up. The user only got three points for eliminations, which makes up around 3% of the total points.
On the other hand, the placement points they got made up a whopping 97% or so of the total points, earning them around 102 points for only seven matches. The likelihood of this happening in a tournament is quite unlikely given the circumstances of a battle royale match.
How These Wins Could Have Happened
There are only a couple of ways a player can win a battle royale match without getting a kill. It isn’t easy to pull off no matter how you look at it. There is the possibility of using the new fishing minigame added at the start of Chapter 2, Season 1.
Then there is the chance the game comes down to two players and one of them accidentally – or purposefully – kills themselves, leaving the other player to win. There is also the chance that one of the players died due to the storm taking them out first.
There are a few different ways this can logically happen. It is quite illogical to believe it happened one of these ways for six matches out of seven, especially in a tournament like this. Therefore, many players in the community believe the user cheated.
In fact, the top comment on the Reddit post calling out this player suggested cheating was the case. They even mentioned how they could have done it. The Reddit user sebte noted a fifth-place player also had strange stats of only five kills but did well.
They noted someone else claimed they lost against the player because they were using the under the map glitch. It is likely it is the same with this person. Another player chimed in and suggested the 18th place player used the same cheating method to do well.
The method they are referring to is a way of cheating that involves the player glitching their way under the battle royale map in one way or another. Because the player has glitched out of the normal map, they can’t be found or attacked normally by the other players still on the island.
Also, they are unable to be damaged typically by the storm closing in on the map. This means they are essentially invulnerable and need to wait it out until the other player dies from killing themselves or the circle taking them out.
Accused Player’s Match Replays Are Unavailable
This cheating accusation would undoubtedly make sense of the six wins with only getting eliminations for potentially half of them. What makes this whole situation more bizarre is the fact the video on demand for the matches the player participated in aren’t available at this time.
Normally, players in the same region as another player who participated in a tournament can watch their match replays and see what happened. This is great for learning how the person took you out or what they did to win the whole event.
In this case, the replays would have been great for determining how/if the player cheated in the Fortnite Solo Hype Nite event. Unfortunately, the replays aren’t working at this time, which leads us to two possible outcomes for what has happened.
The player may have somehow glitched the replays to not work for anyone. But, we highly doubt this is the case as we haven’t heard of such a thing. Instead, the more likely scenario is Epic Games has caught wind of this potentially cheating player and already dished out punishment.
After all, the username of the player seems rather suspicious. The player possibly came up with a strange name that looks like it is invalid. We believe this is not their actual username. It is just showing as their name because of a possible ban.
We will have to wait and see if Epic Games comments on the player and the event. Thankfully, this event wasn’t a Fortnite Cash Cup, so there were no major prizes at stake for doing well in it.
