The Fortnite Share the Love Event is live with some charming new content. If you don’t have a significant other for Valentine’s Day, don’t worry because Fortnite has you covered! The event starts today, and it ends on February 27th. Players will have access to new challenges and unlockable rewards — such as a Valentine-themed weapon skin! Also, Fortnite fans that desire ranked gameplay should enjoy the new “Share the Love” competitive series.

Here is everything you need to know about the Fortnite Share the Love Event.

Rewards

Support-a-creator and get rewarded!

  • Epic games is encouraging players to support Fortnite content creators. Anybody can do this by going to the item shop in Battle Royale mode or the loot tab in Save the World. Afterward, click the “Support a Creator” tab and enter the Epic tag of the creator you wish to support.

Any player that does this will be rewarded with a Cuddle Hearts Wrap when patch v7.40 goes live!

Challenge rewards

  • When patch v7.40 goes live, players will have access to new overtime challenges. Complete all these challenges to unlock several new rewards, which include a Valentines wrap and Vines Contrail.

There is also bonus outfit rewards for battle pass owners. They can unlock the Trog, Powder, and Onesie attires by completing the overtime challenges.

Double XP Weekend

  • From February 15th -17th and 22nd-24th, players will have access to double XP!

Creative Update

  • Save the World players aren’t getting any love this patch, but the creative community is getting an attractive update.

Starting on February 12th, a rotating set of featured islands will appear every day in creative until February 22nd.

Competitive

Share the Love Competitive Series

  • This is a big announcement for competitive Fortnite fans — Epic Games basically just introduced ranked gameplay.

From February 9th-10th, players will get to participate in several placement matches that will determine their ranked division destination. Also, according to the official update, players are placed based on “their performance,” so Epic Games is tracking more than just your win count — in other words, try to rack up a lot of kills.

These are the four ranked divisions:

  • Open division (the noob division)
  • Prospect Division (for competent players)
  • Contender Division (you’re clearly highly-skilled)
  • Champion Division (the best of the best)

Fortunately, if you do poorly in your placement matches, you can still rank up. Just score a certain number of points during any of the live division sessions, and you will earn a pin that signifies you moved up a division.

Finally, if you’re truly an elite player and you earn a pin in the Champion Division, then you will receive an invitation to the Champion Division Finals. This championship series will take place from February 23rd – 24th.

Closing

This Share the Love event looks like it will be a lot better than assorted chocolate in a heart-shaped box. Be sure to enjoy it until patch v7.40, which is rumored to include a Lunar New Year themed update.
