Fortnite Season 10 Opening Cutscene Leaks a Day Early
Following this article being written, Epic decided to officially release their Fortnite Season 10 details early.
Epic Games has been gearing up for the release of the 10th season of battle royale in Fortnite for the last couple of weeks as players look forward to what this monumental season means for a game that’s been around for just over two years now. But you won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what season 10 will entail as the Fortnite season 10 opening cutscene has leaked a day earlier than it was supposed to. As such, players can now watch it (at least until Epic takes it down) and find out exactly what the new season will hold for you.
How the Leak Happened
Since this is the Fortnite season 10 opening cutscene, know that there are massive spoilers ahead for the season’s launch including how the map will look with the new update, what sorts of skins will be available for collecting and purchase through the season 10 battle pass, and more of the lore.
If you are wanting to wait and be surprised by all of the changes when you jump into your match, this is your last chance to avoid spoilers for what awaits you in the next season. The leak happened because of the Fortnite Brazil Twitter account that accidentally posted the full opening instead of the teaser like the other accounts.

Still here? Awesome, you can find the entire Fortnite season 10 opening cutscene below for you to enjoy. This is the same opening that will play when you boot up the game on your platform of choice for the first time after downloading and installing the new update tomorrow.
The official Season X Story Cutscene
As you can see, there is a continuation of the time theme that began with season nine but goes full force in this upcoming season. The weird electrifying orb that was at Loot Lake has apparently exploded and sent Bunker Jonesy flying through time.
What’s Included in the Season 10 Opening
We see glimpses of past seasons and nice little Easter eggs that you can observe while he travels through time. There’s everything from that darn cube to the rocket launching to the warps to season eight’s pirates and much more. You could certainly spend a good bit of time just uncovering all of the little tidbits that are referenced during the first half of the opening.
Eventually, Jonesy finds himself back on the island but it’s changed up and has some major changes that we can see from the opening cutscene. There aren’t too many reveals from the quick shot of the revamped island but we do know a few things. For one, there is one location that hasn’t seemed to change.
As far as we know, the volcano will be staying on the island, though, it isn’t clear just yet if Pressure Plant will remain or if it will revert back to how it was in season eight. One thing that will be returning to the map are the set of warehouses and factories that are unnamed and were near Dusty Depot.
In addition, it seems as if the opening confirms that Dusty Depot will be, in fact, returning to the island with this season. This will likely mean that the crater will likely revert back to how it was before. If you pay attention during the time-traveling section, you will see some alternate versions of existing skins.
There’s a lot to unpack in the Fortnite season 10 opening cinematic ahead of the season’s launch tomorrow on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Be sure to stay tuned here for any information regarding what this new season will hold in the future.
