Fortnite Pro Aydan Paid Off His Mom’s College Loans
Here’s something nice and wholesome for a change. It always seems like we see negative things about Fortnite and Fortnite players in the news. People being toxic, racism, hatred, or “It’s not even really an esport.” But here’s some wholesome Fortnite news, courtesy of Aydan.
Aydan “Aydan” Conrad offered something truly wonderful to both his viewers and his mother as a late Christmas gift. It’s something we discussed last week, but I wanted to stop and talk about it as well. It might be a meme, but you love to see it.
What Did He Do?
Aydan is an incredible Fortnite player, boasting over 1.4 million followers on Twitch.
In the Fortnite World Cup, he made over $50,000 in cash in the duos event.
Aydan has raked in over $160,000 in prizes by being simply good at Fortnite. So, no matter how you think of it on the esports level, that’s mad duckets.
So, while we’re waiting on what comes next from Fortnite, Aydan had something nice and wholesome. In a recent stream, he let the viewers in on the moment he told his mother he paid off all her college loans. She is taking college courses, and as a semi-recent college graduate, I know that it is not cheap.
Aydan told his mother he had a late Christmas gift, though she insisted he didn’t have to do that. Just about all moms say that I think. Aydan says, “Well, it’s too late, mom. All of your school loans have been paid for.” She didn’t believe it at first, but the truth reduced his mother to tears.
He offered the credit to his Twitch stream though; through which I imagine he makes a fair amount of his revenue. The fact that he did something so selfless is beautiful, and his mom gave his stream a sound plug. “Oh, I love them,” she said in the phone call. “Everybody hit! sub and !prime.”
Being a parent is often a thankless job, especially from their children. But Aydan did something that he did not have to do. He eased the burden of his mother, instead of it being the other way around. He’s not done in Fortnite anytime soon, and at the very least, his mother understands just what he does, and how it offers something positive.
I’m not saying all esports players ought to dump their money on their family, but it is nice to see some good come from the esports scene. Aydan did a tremendous thing for his mother by paying off her current college loans, thanks to his incredible skill in Fortnite.
