Fortnite Harley Quinn Event and Skin Reportedly Coming Later This Week

Fortnite battle royale could be getting an exciting new event later this month to keep players invested in the game. This is great given the fact that players have lamented how boring and stale this current season is, due to its length.

Fortnite Harley Quinn Event Reportedly Leaks

The Fortnite Harley Quinn event is supposedly happening soon. We already heard teases and possible rumors about this event coming to the game. However, the latest leak confirmed it and details surrounding the collaboration.

The collaboration may happen due to the new Birds of Prey DC Comics movie releasing this week in theaters. With Harley Quinn as the star of the spin-off movie, it makes sense for Epic Games and DC to work together for another collaboration.

The rumored Fortnite Harley Quinn event comes via the popular and established data miner ShiinaBR. Oddly enough, in the case, it doesn’t come from data in the game’s files like usual but from a direct source who reportedly knows about the event.

According to the data miner, “a source” provided them with “correct information” about the battle royale game in the past and, therefore, could be telling the truth about this info.

What We Know About the Event Thus Far

According to ShiinaBR’s source, the Fortnite Harley Quinn event begins on February 6 at approximately 4 PM PT (7 PM ET). That is later than usual for events like this, especially for new content on Thursdays, but interesting, nonetheless.

Also, players can purchase new cosmetic items in the item shop. Those items include a possible new skin, supposedly already known, and two pickaxes. The skin in question is the Harley Quinn outfit likely based on the look in the Birds of Prey movie, played by Margot Robbie. She returns as the lovable but crazy character from Suicide Squad.

ShiinaBR followed up the initial tweet by noting that players should take this with a grain of salt as a rumor for now. However, the person they got the information from has been 100% correct thus far, so the source is likely right again.

Furthermore, it makes sense for this collaboration to likely happen this week. The movie releases February 7 with some pre-shows the night before. This may explain the odd rumored timing of the start of the event as well.

This is the time the first previews of the movie likely go live on the east coast of the United States. Possibly, DC set it in the contract to have the event start at the earliest.

The day itself isn’t unusual. That is when we usually get new content in battle royale like challenges and the like. Sometimes, new updates get pushed back to that date and sometimes new seasons begin then.

Why This Event Rumor Is Likely True

There are a few interesting points outside of the Fortnite Harley Quinn event that certainly points towards this. For starters, the last overtime challenges for Chapter 2, Season 1 released last week.

Since the current season extended, Epic Games offered weekly overtime challenges for players to complete in the longest battle royale season ever.

No weekly challenges are set for the rest of the season, which is odd. Typically, overtime challenges drop and a new one appears, stating it goes live in seven days or even two weeks.

Recently, two separate batches of overtime challenges released at once. Because of this, it wasn’t until two weeks later that we got the most recent ones. But, no new overtime challenges teased in the game.

Likely, no more are coming until the start of Season 2. However, that is still several weeks away. What could tie players over are new event challenges such as this rumored collaboration.

Epic Games teased a new two-week event that leads up to the release of the second season of Chapter 2. If the Fortnite Harley Quinn event starts Thursday, that is exactly two weeks away from the Season 2 release.

Epic Games has been increasingly more open to having partnerships with upcoming movies. The Avengers, John Wick, and Star Wars are all properties that have seen collaborations in recent memory.

Though Marvel is a competitor to DC, this wouldn’t be the first time that Epic has worked together with each of them. Last year, a Batman collaboration took place where the named location of Tilted transformed into a version of Gotham City. We could possibly see a similar thing happen with this upcoming rumored two-week event.
