Introducing the Fortnite Gifting System
Another marvelous Fortnite Tuesday has arrived, and you know what that means…patch day! That’s right, Fortnite Tuesday; the day where we get to enjoy the new goodies, the benevolent developers bestow upon us. Just in time for the holiday season, Fortnite gifting is coming to Battle Royale for a limited time with the release of v6.31!
What Is Gifting and How Does It Work?
Fortnite’s new gifting feature will allow players to send their friends wrapped items. You can even attach personalized messages if you so desire. The next time a friend is playing Fortnite, they receive the gift box and attached personalized message. What a great way to brighten someone’s day!
It’s a very simple process to send a gift.
Step 1: Go to the “Item Shop” in Fortnite’s main menu.
Step 2: Select Item – which will display two options – “Purchase Items” and “Buy As A Gift.”
Step 3: Select “Buy As A Gift” and pick the recipient off your friends list then hit continue. From there you can either add a custom message or leave it blank.
Your friend will receive their gift and message (if you attached one) the next time; they log in.
Remember – the initial gifting period will only last until next Tuesday, Dec. 4th! If you want to send your homies some Fortnite goodies, don’t miss out!
Fortnite Gifting Stipulations
- Limited time with the initial phase lasting a week after the release of 6.31.
- Not available on iOS devices based on Apple’s policies prohibiting the gifting.
- Can only gift current items available in the Item Shop.
- Gifts are non-refundable once purchased.
- Cannot gift more than three times within a 24-hour period.
- Multi-factor authentication must be enabled on your account to gift an item.
- Must have been friends with someone for at least 48 hours before you can send them gifts.
