Fortnite Cameo vs Chic Challenges Are Now Available: Here’s How to Complete Them
Players will be happy to know about the Fortnite Cameo vs Chic challenges to complete this week during the overtime portion of Chapter 2, Season 1 of battle royale. There are new challenges, rewards and skins available for those who complete these tasks.
New Overtime Challenges Arrive Near the End of Season 1
The latest set of overtime challenges arrive at an interesting time in the game’s life. Last week, we didn’t have any challenges whatsoever. Likely because two batches of challenges dropped two weeks ago, instead of just one like usual.
In addition to that, the new overtime challenges come as we near the end of January and the beginning of February, where we will finally see the Season 2 release after several delays. As such, there is no telling what is going to happen after this week.
If you look at the challenges tab right now, the Fortnite Cameo vs Chic challenges are the final ones. This is contrary to previous releases of new overtime challenges where we could see when the next batch would be added to the game.
With still a few more weeks left until the start of Season 2, it begs the question of what exactly is going on in battle royale right now? These may be the final challenges this season, but we don’t believe that this is the case.
After all, Epic Games recently revealed a new physics engine arrives in a future update just before the release of the next season. There is another two-week event teased, too, for Season 1. So, it is likely that there will be new challenges to tie us over as part of that event.
For now, though, we have the new Fortnite Cameo vs Chic challenges to complete this season.
Fortnite Cameo vs Chic Challenges List
The Fortnite Cameo vs Chic challenges follow in the footsteps of the previous overtime challenges released this month. They have the same naming convention of being a versus. They also offer the same unique reward of a new skin style for an existing skin in the game.
Of course, getting that and the other awesome rewards in the new overtime challenges require you to complete most of them. You can find the full list of the known overtime challenges this week below:
- Catch an item with a fishing rod at three different locations with no fishing signs
- Consume an apple, a mushroom, and a slurpshroom
- Search for five rare chests or supply llamas
- Get eliminations at five different named locations
- Catch a fish at Lake Canoe, Lazy Lake, and Flopper Pond
- Visit a lonely recliner, a radio station, and an outdoor movie theater
- Get an elimination with an assault rifle, a shotgun, and a sniper rifle
- Destroy a Fortnite telescope, a television, and a telephone pole
- Find the hidden gnome in between a racetrack, a cabbage patch, and a farm sign
- Dance at the top of Mount H7, Mount H8, and Mount Kay
As you can see, there are 10 new challenges in total, which is standard for the previous weeks of overtime tasks. Completing them grants you exclusive rewards plus level up your battle pass in case you haven’t already reached the coveted tier 100.
Below, you will find our detailed guide for how to complete all 10 of the unique challenges this week from finding the hidden gnome to destroy a Fortnite telescope and much more.
Where to Find No Fishing Signs and Slurpshrooms

The first challenges require catching an item with a fishing rod at three different locations that have a no fishing sign. This is the counterpart to the previous set of challenges where we needed to swim in a swimming area.
First and foremost, for this challenge, find the three spots that have no fishing signs. Thankfully, you won’t have to go far as you can find all three relatively close to one another. Travel to Slurpy Swamp for this task.
There are no fishing signs set up around the factory in the middle of Slurpy Swamp, likely because the factory corrupts the waters around here. The first one is found on the northern edge of the factory by the river.
The second one is on the left side of the factory, also by a river there and the third is a little bit southeast of it where the river meets the factory on the southern side. Catch an item there, which can be anything from trash to a fish; just make sure to grab a fishing rod beforehand.
For the second challenge this week, consume an apple, a mushroom and a slurpshroom. When it comes to apples, the best spot to find them is at the orchard landmark. This location is directly north of Frenzy Farm and is host to a ton of apple trees.
As for mushrooms, you can find these all over the Season 1 island. There are some near Frenzy Farm as well plus some in the Weeping Woods and more. The slurpshroom, though, is a relatively new item that is a blue mushroom.
In a way, it is like an irradiated mushroom that you can only find in one section of the map. That is, understandably, near Slurpy Swamp. In the swamps around the factory, you are likely to find these blue mushrooms. Consume all three to complete this challenge.
For the third challenge this week search for a rare chest or supply llama and find five of these. They can be a mix of either of the two. The rare chests are the blue, somewhat glowing ones that look a little different from the normal brownish treasure chests.
Your best bet for finding them is going to the main named locations around the island. These places are typically home to one or two of these blue chests. You can also sometimes find supply llamas around the outskirts of towns and the like.
How to Find the Lonely Recliner, Radio Station, and Movie Theater
There is a challenge where you must get eliminations at different named locations. You must get an elimination at five of these named locations, so head to five different spots and get at least one kill there. You don’t have to complete this challenge in one match.
If you have a hard time getting kills in the game, we recommend picking one named location each match you go into, heading there right from the start, picking up a weapon, and taking out the easier players who might not be fully armed yet.
If you can do this once per match at a different spot, you can complete this challenge in five matches or less. The next challenge is to catch a fish – not an item – at Lake Canoe, Lazy Lake, and Flopper Pond. Lazy Lake is an easy one as that is a named location on the map.
Lake Canoe, however, is found in the large lake southwest of Dirty Docks and slightly northwest of Retail Row. The large lake here is home to a ton of canoes spread around it. Meanwhile, Flopper Pond is a tiny pond located northeast of Holly Hedges and north of Weeping Woods.
Grab yourself a fishing rod and catch a fish at all three locations. The sixth challenge on this list requires you to visit three locations like the classic challenges we’ve had before. The three spots to head to are all landmarks on the island.
Those three locations are a lonely recliner, a radio station, and an outdoor movie theater, one of which you might already know. The first is the lonely recliner, which is a chair that can be found randomly atop a hill on the island. Head directly west of Dirty Docks to the hill near there.
Next to a lone tree is this strange chair landmark. Head close enough to it for the game to recognize the landmark to complete the first part. The second location is a radio station found west of Steamy Stacks and directly east of Craggy Cliffs.
There is a large FN radio station here to visit for the second part of this challenge. The third and final spot is the easiest one. You might already know where it is. The outdoor movie theater is Risky Reels, which is a landmark in this season.
If you don’t know where Risky Reels is, you can find the fixed and revamped drive-in movie theater west of Frenzy Farm but before the large river near the center of the island. Visit this location to complete this three-part challenge.
Where to Destroy a Fortnite Telescope and More
The seventh challenge is to get an elimination with an assault rifle, a shotgun, and a sniper rifle. This is the most standard challenge this week, as you likely already know what to do. You need three eliminations in total, one with each weapon type listed here.
Thankfully, you don’t have to do all of this in a single match either. You can simply make it your goal to find an assault rifle and get an elimination with it in one match, then the shotgun, and so on. Do this in Team Rumble mode since you have respawns and more chances to get kills.
For the next challenge, destroy the Fortnite telescope, television, and a telephone pole on the island. We found all three in multiple spots, but the best spot is near Pleasant Park.
Far north of Pleasant Park and northwest of Craggy Cliffs is a little island off the coast of the mainland. Here, you will find a bush in the middle of the small island where there is a Fortnite telescope. Destroy the telescope with your pickaxe or a weapon.
Once you destroy the Fortnite telescope, head southwest to a house located north of Pleasant Park. Inside this house, you will find a television to destroy. Outside the house, there is a telephone pole to destroy. It is easy to do all three of these in one match.
Where to Find the Hidden Gnome and Mountains
For the penultimate challenge this week, search for and find the hidden gnome located in between a racetrack, a cabbage patch, and a farm sign. You don’t have to visit these three locations to complete this challenge as you need to find the spot in between them.
If you are curious about what these three locations are, we have the answer for you. All three locations are near the orchard located north of Frenzy Farm, which you will likely head to for one of the previous challenges.
The racetrack is found directly north of the orchard while the farm sign and cabbage patch are much closer to the farm area. With such a small area between the three, it is easy to find the location of the gnome found on the small hill that is in between the three spots.
Head here and go to the middle of the hill and you should see the gnome appear. Interact with it to complete this challenge. The final challenge this week is dancing on top of three mountains on the map. The first is the easy-to-find Mount H7 location.
The game gives away where this mountain is by giving you the coordinates of it on the grid-based map. You can find the H7 square on the map, directly south of Retail Row in the southeastern corner of the map.
As for the F8 mountain, it is on the southern end of the island, directly southeast of Misty Meadows. The third and final mountain doesn’t have its coordinates given, but it is southwest of the first mountain and southwestern corner of the long stretch of snow.
When you head to these three mountains, get on top of them at the highest area and do your favorite dance emote. Do this on all three mountains to complete this challenge.
Fortnite Cameo vs Chic Challenge Rewards
For completing any of the 10 challenges this week, you get a reward like in previous weeks. For every challenge, you get 52,000 experience for a total of 520,000 if you do all 10 of them. This is great for players still doing this season’s battle pass.
For those who don’t care about doing that or have already reached tier 100, there’s another reward you should collect. If you do any nine of the 10 challenges this week, you get the gold-style Chic skin, like other overtime challenges this month.
