Fortnite Best Friendzy Event Lets You Earn Rewards With Friends

Epic Games has released some new events for players to check out in the current Season 7 of Fortnite, and one of them is all about hanging out with your friends. The new Fortnite Best Friendzy event promotes and encourages players to team up with their in-game friends online.

Fortnite Best Friendzy Event Begins

How the Fortnite Best Friendzy event works is that players are asked to play with their friends online. They will have the chance to earn some rewards together. All it is just the usual playing Fortnite together, which players are already doing in the game, to begin with.

However, in the case of this new limited-time event, it means that you will be rewarded for doing so in that you will be able to enjoy unlocking some special cosmetic rewards in exchange for just having fun with your friends. In this way, it is one of the most chill events in the game to date.

In a way, the Fortnite Best Friendzy event is essentially having some “challenges” of a sort to play with your friends for a certain time to unlock rewards. The more time you play together, the more rewards you will unlock in the new event.

The battle royale game will keep track of the matches you are playing together and the amount of time you are doing this as the time goes on and builds up during the Fortnite Best Friendzy event. The more rewards that you will be able to earn until you have all of them.

Fortnite Best Friendzy Dates

The Fortnite Best Friendzy is live right now in the game, starting on Tuesday, August 31, and running for more than a week. It will be live until September 12 at around 1 p.m. PT, and players have until then to play with their friends and earn some great cosmetic rewards together.

However, it is not as simple as queuing up with your in-game friends though, as there is an extra step to the event. This is not the direct quests-style that we usually have where the game asks you to do something. Then it immediately starts keeping track of what you’ve done.

Instead, there is a step that you must do before anything else to have the Fortnite Best Friendzy event track your progress and receive the rewards. If you do not do this, you will earn the rewards and may be left wondering what is going on.

You Need to Register for the Event First

First and foremost, in the Fortnite Best Friendzy, you must head to this website right here. This is the official Fortnite website and directly to the page for the event. For some odd reason, Epic Games requires players to visit here and register for the limited-time event before starting.

When you arrive there, you will need to log in if you are not already on that device and follow the instructions to register for the event. Once you have completed this crucial step, then, and only then, will you be able to start tracking your progress in the event.

Do note that Epic warns that there may be a delay of about 30 minutes before the progression begins for your account, so we recommend heading to that website sooner rather than later. Also, your friends do not need to register for the event to play with them. It will still track for you.

Even if someone is not registered for the event, so long as they are your friend, you will be able to progress through the Fortnite Best Friendzy event. However, I recommend encouraging them to sign up as well, as they will ensure that they are also properly rewarded for their time playing with you.

How Earning Prizes and Points Works

Once you are registered for the Fortnite Best Friendzy event, you can start earning the rewards. This works because you must earn a certain number of points for each reward in the event. The way that you get points is by playing with your friends for a while online.

It must be battle royale matches for this to work, and the amount of points you get depends on the length of time. For every 10 minutes that you play together, you will get one point. You can also play in Creative together, but you have a maximum of six points that you can earn this way (essentially an hour of playtime), whereas battle royale does not have that restriction.

The bonus every day is that you can select an hour in which the points you earn will triple, meaning every 10 minutes, you will get three points, instead of just one for this period only. Those points will then add up together. You will be able to unlock the four rewards.

The first one is the Outer Space Handshake emoticon. It only costs three points, which is (barring the bonus time) around 30 minutes worth of playing with friends. The second one, which is the Invasion Remix track, increases that number significantly to 10 points.

From there, we double the points to 20 for the Life’s a Beach weapon wrap. The final one is the Aquari-Axe pickaxe that requires 50 points. That is a pretty large amount of time at 500 minutes of playing together (not including the bonus time) so keep that in mind. You have until September 12 to unlock these rewards, which is not too much time, so we recommend playing some playtimes with your friends.
