Fortnite Battle Bus Bug Leaves Player on Starting Island
Fortnite battle royale has had a lot of bugs in the past, some detrimental to the overall gameplay, while others were hilarious moments that left players wondering. The latter is the case with the most recent issue that a player discovered in the game.
Fortnite Player Gets Stranded on Starting Island
The Reddit user LayzaSkully posted a video clip to the official sub-Reddit page for the battle royale game with the title explaining that a Fortnite battle bus bug resulted in the bus leaving without them. We have never seen this strange situation happen before.
The brief video clip starts by showing the player joining a match and in the loading screen like usual. What happens when they finally load in, though, is quite unusual. The Fortnite battle bus bug causes the player to be left behind while still on the starting island, despite everyone else leaving.
The match seems to have already started when the player arrives on the starting island. This is a weird scenario. There is no way that we know of currently for the player to make their way back to the mainland for the normal battle royale match.
The starting island is a separate entity from the main battle royale island used for each match. Players start on the smaller area to practice and get ready as more players join the match. Then, typically, once everyone is in the game, the battle bus will start its countdown.
Bug Gives Idea of What Happens on the Island
When the count is up, the battle bus will take all the players automatically to the mainland and lock the doors until they pass over it. There is no usual way of sticking behind on the starting island and seeing what it is all about.
That’s what makes this whole Fortnite battle bus bug situation so strange. But it does give us an idea of what happens on the island once the normal match begins. The storm does affect the island even though it is separate from the rest of the mainland.
As such, the affected player has their health start going down immediately once they load in since they are in the storm. The player can check the main map for the island when they look at it and see the first circle and everything.
The player runs around for a brief period before they leave the match entirely, instead of sticking around for their character to die due to the storm permanently there in the match. Them leaving early does make it so that we can’t find some details about the starting island.
Some want to know whether the items given are before the match starts and what the player can do since everyone is gone. In addition, hidden places could be hard to find in a short period of time players are there.
No Known Cause of This Issue
We can’t figure out the cause of this Fortnite battle bus bug either. There are some notable factors, though, that could play into why this strange event happened to the Reddit user. For one, they are in the Team Rumble game mode.
That one is a lot different from the other modes that focus solely on the battle royale survival experience. Instead, respawns are in this mode with two teams rather than numerous duos or squads. The game mode or the respawn factor could play into this happening.
However, the most glaring thing is that the player is loaded into the game. The battle bus had already left without them. A connection or server issue is likely the cause behind this. Perhaps they loaded in at the right moment and spawned on the starting island.
The perfect timing of when it all happened resulted in this bizarre occurrence. Oddly enough, the comments on the Reddit post are hilarious and supportive. Some players claimed this bug happened to them, too.
The new bug could be popping in the game for players under certain circumstances. In a joke of sorts, one Reddit user stated that the bus driver could be tired of people not thanking them, so they left the player behind.
This is, of course, about the Fortnite Deadpool challenge where players had to not thank the bus driver in a match of battle royale. To accomplish this, hop out of the battle bus without saying a word through button inputs.
It is but one of many weekly Deadpool challenges added every Friday during Season 2 of Chapter 2. The challenges let players work towards some Deadpool-themed rewards with the promise of a full-on Deadpool official character skin at the end of the season for completing all of them.
Stay tuned for more details regarding the Deadpool challenges and any fixes for this strange battle bus issue. Epic Games has yet to comment or address the problem at the time of publishing this article.
