It’s no secret that millions of gamers across the globe are eagerly awaiting the very first full-length animated series set in the League of Legends universe. “Arcane” looks and feels like the LoL “anime” we all wanted for years, and the fact that we’re so darn close to its release is more than enough to get our blood pumping! And now, after waiting for what feels like an eternity, we finally have a bit of footage, courtesy of Riot Games! Give it a look!

If you’re itching for even more information on Arcane and its quirky protagonist(s), there’s a supremely interesting dev video featuring Christian Linke and Alex Yee, both of whom have been with Riot for over a decade and are currently working as showrunners/executive products on Arcane.

“Arcane is our love letter to you, the players and fans who over the years have been with us to help make League of Legends what it is today. When we set out to make Arcane, we knew we wanted to create something that feels like an authentic representation of your favorite champions. So you’ll get to see some of their origin stories, but you’ll also get to see them in the present day as they push the world forward.”

The show itself is set in Piltover and Zaun and will “explore the lives of the many champions who live there.” The core of it all will revolve around Jinx and Vi — two sisters whose lives developed in wholly different directions. Their roots, however, are nourished by similar traumas, all of which will be explored in-depth throughout the show.

Interestingly enough, Alex and Christopher both worked on these fan-favorite champions so many years ago, so this really is a passion project in every way, shape, and form. Perhaps best of all, Arcane will delve deeper into the psyche of these characters and the way their lives unfolded based on the choices they made early on. In other words, it’ll be an absolute must watch!

Stay tuned for more information as we’re bound to get a full-blown trailer in just a couple of weeks!
