First Apex Legends Revenant Image Revealed, Could Release in Season 4

Apex Legends is getting a lot of crazy announcements and leaks currently with the next season of battle royale looming ever closer. Within two days, we have found out the new legend coming to the game, map changes, a new weapon, and more.

Some of these announcements came directly from Respawn Entertainment while others have come from the game itself as data miners have continued to leak info from the game’s files, although the developer recently changed how updates are shared with players.

First Official Apex Legends Revenant Image Leaks

The most recent announcement from the game falls into the latter category of having a leaker share the info. Well, it falls into that category as we have an unprecedented situation. Popular data miner That1MiningGuy didn’t find this latest announcement in the game files.

Instead, he scoured through one of the official EA websites and found the first official Apex Legends Revenant image. The image is of the leaker and yet to be confirmed legend.

This is a surprising twist of events considering that just yesterday, we found out about the hero coming to the game who isn’t Revenant at all. Oddly enough, the leaker found the Apex Legends Revenant image hidden on the EA Answers website.

That is a strange place to find this picture since that is a site dedicated to helping players that are having trouble with something and providing them with answers. It is also a place for players to post in a forum thread their issue or question and get help from the community.

So, it does seem odd for the random website to play host to the first official Apex Legends Revenant image that we have seen, but here we are. As you can see in the picture, it confirms much of what we thought about the character as a robotic figure much like Pathfinder.

How That1MiningGuy was able to find the hidden Apex Legends Revenant image was by manipulating the URL for a different image entirely. On the EA Answers website, you can find the header image that shows the new hero known as Forge that is coming in Season 4.

By simply clicking on the header, you can see the URL where the picture is uploaded to. Like with other links on the web, you can change the URL link ever so slightly and find yourself on a different page. Its code knows the header of “al6.”

What the data miner did was change the number in the URL to seven and that came up with a different image; one of Revenant, to be exact. If you change the number even more to lower numbers, you will find stuff for other post-launch legends like Crypto and Wattson.

At the same time, going over seven will result in an error. This tells us that Forge and Revenant are the next two legends since they are the readiest, the former of which is already confirmed to be the case.

This Leak Comes After Forge Is Confirmed as Season 4 Launch Character

Though it is just a picture and nothing else, the Apex Legends Revenant image comes at an extraordinary time indeed. It arrives just a day after the official unveiling of the new Season 4 character. That legend is none other than Forge, a melee-focused brawler.

The announcement was shared on YouTube in a developer stream that showcased the game’s journey up until this point and where it is going from here. We didn’t expect to get so much Season 4 information from it, but we did, confirming the release date as well as map changes and more.

Part of this announcement was the reveal of Forge. All we got at that time was an image, just like Revenant, and some vague details about the background for the character. We also know that he will be very different from other legends and be the exact opposite of Crypto.

Other than that, we don’t know much else about the upcoming legend who set to release in around two weeks or so. So, it is surprising to see this Revenant picture pop up after the first image of Forge has also been revealed.

More importantly, it comes as part of the Forge package, too. It was likely uploaded to the EA Answers website around the same time as the Forge image was.

Revenant Could Still Come to Season 4 Anyways

The reasoning that many players in the community have right now is that we could still see Revenant release in Season 4 even though we already know Forge is the legend for that season. So far, only one legend has been the focus of each new season.

In Season 1, we had the speedy Octane with Season 2 having the defensive, pylon focused Wattson and the current Season 3 having the drone pilot Crypto. With the fourth season on its way, the status quo states that it should only be one legend that we would see this upcoming season.

But Respawn has surprised us before like the shocking news that Season 3 would see the end of Kings Canyon (temporarily) and the start of a new map called World’s Edge. It was surprising on several levels including the fact that a game like it hadn’t been out for a whole year yet.

As such, there is no reason that Revenant couldn’t still come to the battle royale game in Season 4, even though we know that Forge is also coming to the game. This leaked image only adds more credence to this fact and players are beginning to think we may see two legends this season.

For starters, there’s the fact that many in the community (including us) believed that the new legend in this upcoming season would be Revenant. There were too many leaks and, just recently, what looked to be the final abilities for the character appeared in the in-game files.

Then there is the fact that the character is one of the only known legends who aren’t in the game currently who has appeared in the game in some way. He was the host of the limited-time Shadowfall event mode that happened in the Fight or Fright spooky event last Halloween.

We even got to see our first look at Revenant in a trailer for the event, making us believe that the robot would be the new legend in the upcoming season. But Respawn pulled a fast one on us and surprised us with the announcement of Forge, instead, yesterday.

In a way, this could honestly be a fake-out on its own with the developer wanting to make us think that Forge is the only legend that will release next season when it will also come out with Revenant. Now, there are a couple of ways that we could see this shadowy robot release anyways.

How Revenant Could Still Release in Season 4

The first is a crazy one, but we could see Season 4 come out with not one but two new legends right on the day of launch. This would be insane, but it would be the type of crazy maneuver that Respawn is known for doing to the community in the past.

This would explain the initial announcement of Forge at this time to make the community let its guard down. However, the chances of this are slim as you would think that the developer would want to space out its content so that it doesn’t do too much at once.

As such, the more likely scenario and the one that we believe will happen is that we will see Revenant release in the midway point of the fourth season. At this time, we know a bit about how the structure of the upcoming season will work.

The rumors were true about the original Kings Canyon map coming back in this upcoming season, but it will happen in a different way than we expected. At the start of Season 4, World’s Edge will continue to be the main battle royale map with some major changes made to it.

This will be like the changes made to Kings Canyon at the start of Season 2. Players will have around six more weeks of playing on the World’s Edge map before the middle of the season happens. This will lead to a major shift in the metagame as Kings Canyon takes its place.

That will be the map for the second half of the season. We do expect that it comes with its own major changes since we last saw it. Perhaps there will even be a permanent day and night cycle to go through in each battle royale match to keep players on their toes.

Regardless, that midway point would be the perfect time to introduce other changes to the game like possibly another new weapon or, better yet, release Revenant as the second new character that season. It makes a lot of sense, honestly, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case.

What We Know About Revenant’s Abilities Right Now

With the launch of Revenant still seemingly in the cards, it is important to know what this new robot character is all about before we have our chance to play as him. The abilities that this character has have gone through several iterations with the most recent one seeming the most likely to be the real deal.

In it, we have the passive ability that is known as Infiltrator that makes it clear what type of character Revenant will be. With this passive, the player can walk while crouching faster than other characters and climb walls higher.

Then there is the Mark for Death ability that he has that lets him fire off a poison dagger that will slightly damage the enemy. The main purpose of it, though, is to reveal the location of the enemy for up to 60 seconds. It notifies the targeted player, so they know that they are being watched.

The target’s location will disappear once the minute has passed or if the targeted player heals their health back up to full, whichever comes first. Then there is the final ability that is known as Silence. With this one, the player throws a device that disables all enemy abilities for 10 seconds.

Overall, Revenant seems to be likely a character who is a complicated sneaky assassin of sorts. You can take out players with surprise techniques but also be able to escape and leave the enemy almost defenseless in some impressive ways.

In this way, Revenant could be a solid solo or team player and offer the true assassin role that Bloodhound also partially fills. This will allow for a change in the metagame, especially if there is a nighttime section of the match. This will truly make Revenant a dangerous foe to deal with.

Compared to the possibly aggressive and offensive-focused brawler, Forge, it looks like Respawn Entertainment is gearing up to change up the current metagame that some players consider stale in a considerable way. Stay tuned for more details about this legend who could come in Season 4 alongside Forge.
