FaZe Teeqo Breaks Silence on SaveTheKids Scandal
Though suspended due to the SaveTheKids drama, FaZe Teeqo has spoken up. It sounds like the FaZe Clan member might be innocent of wrongdoing in the SaveTheKids scandal. SaveTheKids was essential for those who aren’t caught up, a Pump and Dump crypto scam. Several members of FaZe Clan (and other content creators) were involved, having been found to have dumped their coins almost immediately to make a profit. However, a few YouTube creators (Coffeezilla, OrdineraryGamers) have seen Teeqo’s crypto wallet. It sounds like he did not actively participate in the Pump and Dump scheme! Teeqo has also broken his silence, and he is stepping away for some time. What did he have to say?
Teeqo’s Stepping Away Maybe For Good
In the initial reaction from FaZe Clan about SaveTheKids, Kay was removed, and Teeqo, Jarvis, and Nikan were suspended. Coffeezilla and OrdinaryGamers, the YouTube creators responsible for breaking this story, have now said that Teeqo is innocent of all wrongdoing. It sounds like it might be too little, too late, though. Yes, Teeqo was paid to be a part of the SaveTheKids crypto event. Coffeezilla and OrdinaryGamers found that Teeqo did not dump the currency he was given.
FaZe Teeqo held onto all of his SaveTheKids coins, and it sounds like he went into this with good intentions. Perhaps he believed it wasn’t a scam, so he joined in on it. However, FaZe Kay dumped everything within a few hours, and Jarvis did something similar. The people who pumped and dumped might be in some serious trouble if the authorities get involved. The FTC does not mess around when it comes to pump and dump schemes.
It’s great news to see that someone supposedly involved in this scam was innocent. It genuinely sounds like Teeqo also got scammed, despite making money on the original ambassadorship. The question next would be if Teeqo would re-join FaZe Clan and be unsuspended. It doesn’t sound like that’s going to be the case – for now, anyway. Teeqo broke his silence this weekend over Twitter.
Titled “Goodbye,” he posted a note to social media. “I know you haven’t heard from me for a while. Life’s been an absolute nightmare the past month & I’d be lying if I said I was well. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. About my life overall, the past decade & what my next chapter might look like. I’m going to be gone for some time. Indeed to take care of myself before I do something really stupid. I’m not sure when or if I’ll be back. I’m uploading a video this week explaining more. I hope you understand. Thank you for everything.”
The outpouring of support for Teeqo is genuinely heartwarming. Everyone from KSI to Gen.G’s Tinaraes has spoken up in support of Teeqo and his decisions. There’s no telling what FaZe Clan’s next moves will be, but we have a feeling we’ll have the answers all too soon. It sounds like Teeqo was the only person involved who wanted to “save the kids” in this case. In fact, according to Keemstar, Teeqo bought SaveTheKids coins with $38,000 of his own money and never sold a single coin. Unfortunately, he got scammed just like everyone else. We wish nothing but the best for Teeqo in this trying time and that he finds whatever he’s after in this time away.
