FaZe Sway Caught Cheating in Fortnite Cash Cup Tournament
In a rather open-shut case, FaZe Sway has been accused of and admitted to cheating in a recent Cash Cup Solos tournament last night.
In a clip posted to his Twitter, streamer Sour_ revealed how he’d been “teamed” against, where two players playing in a solo queue game work together to defeat their opponents, by Sway and his friend Wistle in a fight during one of the matches.
In the clip, Sway can be seen landing at the site of a fight between Wistle and Sour_ before preceding to shoot at Sour_ until he dies.
After Wistle kills Sour_, Sway proceeds to hop down from the structure they’re on and casually walk away instead of trying to finish off Wistle. This allowed the player time to heal up and reposition for his next opponent.
Just got teamed on by @FaZeSway and @Wistles_ in the Cash Cup. Is this acceptable in competitive? This sort of thing really puts me off. @JTonYouTube @The_FortniteGuy pic.twitter.com/UySfSGbXAN

Community Reaction
After the clip was posted to the FortniteBR subreddit, the post made it to the top of the forum and was met by outrage from the community.
Many expressed their disappointment with Sway, a sponsored pro, for cheating in a small-time tournament. Others called for an immediate ban for both cheaters, citing a previous ruling against several players for cheating before the Fortnite World Cup.
For his part, Sway responded by fessing up to the allegations against him, stating,
“I was on a call with friends while playing and after realizing it was Wistle fighting I chose to leave. I shouldn’t have changed what I was because it was a friend. I never had an intention to team up on anybody, so I wanted to clear the air. I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to do anything wrong but will accept whatever repercussions come my way.”
At the time of this article post, Epic Games has yet to respond to the accusations against Sway. If they react like they have in the past, he’ll likely receive a 14-day ban from the game, giving him time to think over his actions.
His sponsor FaZe has also not responded to the situation as of now, though we’ll keep you updated if they do make a statement on FaZe Sway cheating.
