Evil Geniuses Is the First Team to Qualify for TI10
Evil Geniuses is the first team to officially qualify for TI10! Needless to say, this small bit of Evil Geniuses TI10 news will surely excite the many competitive Dota 2 fans across the globe as it means we’re inching closer to the biggest esport tournament of the year — The International, which also happens to have the biggest prize pool in history: a whopping $40 million will be up for grabs, with the winning team getting nearly half of the total sum! That’s pretty much the definition of “life-changing money” and you just love to see it!

Moreover, with the Dota 2 scene being in a pretty bad state overall, Evil Geniuses qualifying for TI10 is more important than ever! This means that Evil Geniuses will earn $100,000 just to show up, assuming that Valve retains the existing percentage ratios.
The fact that they qualified should come as no surprise, given the amount of success they’ve been able to find over in the North American Dota Pro Circuit. They won the first season and are on track to win the second one as well. Their second-place finish at the recent ONE Esports Singapore Major also warrants a bit of attention as it provided them with quite a solid number of DPC Points. All in all, they’re one of the best-performing teams in the world right now and were pretty much a shoo-in for The International. Still, getting official TI10 confirmation is immensely important, and it means that Evil Geniuses can enter their upcoming clash with Quincy Crew (who also happen to be undefeated) without any pressure whatsoever.
Signs of Life
After months of radio silence (or sporadic updates, most of which were fairly negligible in nature), Valve have finally confirmed that TI10 will, indeed, happen this August in Stockholm, Sweden. The fact that we’re finally getting some top-tier Dota 2 action (organized by Valve, no less) is definitely a cause for celebration! The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic seems to have been subdued ever so slightly, which means there’s a very good chance that Valve will be able to organize the whole thing without much hassle. Here’s hoping!
