ENCE Talks Aleksib, Jamppi Leaves SJ Gaming, More – CSGO Recap 12/18/2019
Welcome back everyone to another exciting day of CSGO news. Today we’ve got a look at the recent video by ENCE about why they dropped Aleksib, Jamppi leaves SJ Gaming’s starting line-up, and worries for Na’Vi fans as S1mple struggles against Vitality.
As always, we’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s dive on in.
ENCE on Aleksib
Following rumors back in August that they would be benching Aleksib for Mousesports’ SuNny and despite the outrage from fans, ENCE has remained silent on the reasoning for removing him from the line-up.
Now, the org has finally come out on the reasoning behind the benching. The answer of why ENCE dropped Aleksib is underwhelming.
In the video posted to the team’s YouTube channel, the team’s CEO’s explained how they’d begun planning to extend all the players’ contracts following their “miracle run” at IEM Katowice. They had them mostly finished up when they initially offered SuNny to join the squad.
The team declined the offer at the time believing they weren’t ready to have him on the roster. The opportunity arose again later during the summer. This time they decided to go with the move. They alerted Aleksib the next day that they intended to get SuNny as a replacement.
The team then decided to announce the Major, despite still playing with Aleksib, to avoid a lousy performance impacting how people viewed the announcement.
The team had also begun negotiating with OG for the transfer of Aleksi to their new squad. They had those wrapped up by October outside of direct talks between Aleksi and OG over his contract.
While the video did give more information as to how they went about getting SuNny and transferring Aleksi to OG, it still left many fans frustrated. There was a lack of information as to why they were considering SuNny in the first place.
Jake’s sources close to the team said during the roster reveal the reasoning ENCE dropped Aleksib was due to a lack of motivation from Aleksi. According to him, the team said he’d be dropped if he didn’t improve his mental attitude. However, we are unable to verify those claims directly with the parties involved at this time.
Jamppi Leaves SJ Gaming’s Starting Line-Up
Speaking of OG’s players, AWPer Jamppi, who almost ended up on the squad until issues with his past emerged last month, found himself without a starting line-up to his name.
In a sad video posted to SJ Gaming’s Twitter, the team thanked Jamppi for everything. Then announced benching him from the starting line-up, replaced by Stovve.
The team did note that Jamppi would be staying on with the org. They gave him time to reflect on what his future held for him. Whether that will be with the team long-term in some other capacity is currently unknown.
Rumors circulated that his benching was because of his VAC ban issue in the past, others claim he’s found a new team to join finally.
We’ll continue to keep you updated as this story develops.
Worries for Na’Vi
Our last stop of the day takes us over to the CIS. Renowned team Na’Vi found itself in a bind following yesterday’s loss 1-2 loss to Team Vitality at Epicenter 2019.
While the team took a 16-4 win on Dust II to blow open the first map of the series, they almost fell apart on the following maps of Inferno and Nuke. They only got three rounds apiece on each of them in one of the most stomping top-tier matches we’ve ever seen.
While the loss was terrible already for Na’Vi, it was made even worse with star player S1mple’s .3 rating for Nuke, the lowest in his career.
Now the series was just one bad showing for the team. But, to see the star player have a career-low rating has got to be terrifying for the Ukrainian org.
That’s all we have for today, thanks for reading. We’ll be back later this week with more exciting CSGO news, so stay tuned!
