Elden Ring Delayed to February 2022, Closed Network Test in November

by in General | Oct, 19th 2021

If you’re one of the many who’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, we have some bad news: this oh-so-fascinating title has been delayed to February 25, 2022. Now, in all fairness, this isn’t exactly the most depressing bit of information as the game’s basically been pushed back for no more than thirty days — it could’ve been a whole lot worse. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has affected all walks of life, and game development didn’t go unscathed, unfortunately.

According to the official Elden Ring Twitter account, the development team needed a bit more time in order to polish things up and deliver the kind of experience we’re all yearning for. The game’s depth and strategic freedom surpassed their initial expectations, so this sudden delay is more than justified. Plus, if it means the end result will be even better and more enjoyable, we’re more than willing to wait — it’ll be well worth it!

Not All Is Grim

Fortunately, it’s not all bad news as a closed network test is scheduled to happen next month on consoles, with five different sessions taking place from November 12—15, as per the official Bandai Namco website.
