“Dreamy” Yordle Mage Shown Off In LoL Ruination Promotional Material
The oft-rumored “dreamy” Yordle mage was just shown off in a bit of promotional material tied to the LoL Ruination event! It’s just a single image, but it’s all that necessary to get us hyped! Heck, we didn’t even get a good look at Akshan, the Sentinel of Light, and yet Riot’s already giving us a glimpse at what’s to come after this charming maverick hits live servers!
Both champions are heavily tied to the whole Ruination event that’s about to go down, although we’re still uncertain how big of a role they’ll play. Akshan seems to be a central character and a force of good, but the same cannot be said for this gloomy Yordle — based on her outward appearance, she seems mighty flegmatic, and even though her color scheme matches that of the Shadow Isles, she’s probably more of a “neutral evil” kind of character. This is only an assumption, of course.
You can see her profile in the promotional image above. Most folks would probably notice Riven and Olaf first, with the Ruined Shyvanna right afterward. The “dreamy” Yordle, however, is positioned in such a way that she can easily be overlooked if one’s not paying attention.
A Mage Through and Through
This peculiar little Yordle was originally supposed to be released before Akshan (and after Gwen), but Riot needed a bit more time to fully flesh her out and deliver on her unique ability kit. She was also supposed to be an artillery-type mage (think Xerath and Ziggs) but has since been transmuted into a more traditional one.

That’s pretty much all we know at this point in time. How big of an impact she’ll have on the meta still remains to be seen, but if the recent couple of releases are anything to go by, she’ll probably end up as an oppressive (if not downright OP) champion with a wholly broken ability kit. That’s sort of been Riot’s M.O. over the last couple of years and it probably won’t change any time soon (if ever).
There’s a theory circulating online that she’s actually none other than Norra, Yuumi’s master. She had at some point fled Bandle City by using the “Book of Thresholds” and is easily annoyed with “hyperactive champions dashing all around her”, as per Lead Champion Producer Ryan” Reav3” Mireles. Whether this theory is actually true or not still remains to be seen, but it’s definitely plausible.
In any case, we won’t have to wait long to find out! Based on Riot’s release cadence, we’ll probably be able to test her out on the PBE in the next month or two, so stay tuned!
