Dota 2 Aghanim’s Labyrinth Summer Event Revealed

by in Dota 2 | Jul, 15th 2020

Ever since the release of this year’s Battle Pass, we knew that Valve had something unique in store for summer — an event that would involve players in a “mystery long lost within the fog of war.” While such a dramatic sentence certainly does get one’s blood flowing, it didn’t provide us with much else. Fortunately, the wait is finally over as Valve has just given us a full reveal of the Dota 2 Aghanim’s Labyrinth summer event!

Needless to say, the appearance of Aghanim himself makes this event one to remember! Players can gather three friends (or matchmake with others) and enter the labyrinth for free — no Battle Pass required! You and your group will then go through multiple rooms to test your mettle and earn rewards for your efforts and potential triumphs. You’ll pick your challenges through the labyrinth meaning you’ll select the monsters you want to face next. For each win you accumulate, you’ll earn shards which can be used to augment your heroes’ abilities, therefore adding a strategic element to the entire journey. Making a wrong choice can severely impact your labyrinth run, so choose wisely! Once you reach the very end of your run, you’ll face Aghanim himself.

After completing the entire run, you’ll unlock a new Ascension Level that will present even harder challenges. There are four such levels in total, and beating each will unlock a unique Aghanim chat wheel voice line.

Finally, you’ll be able to compete in a randomly generated labyrinth once a week against a global leaderboard. The most successful parties will unlock unique prizes, granted by Aghanim himself. You can see the full list of items by clicking here. This separate game mode called “Aghanim’s Trials” will begin on July 21st and you’ll be able to queue up with your party as many times you want during a two-hour window. Leaderboards will reset on Sundays. In the case your friends don’t want to partake, you’ll be able to matchmake with complete randoms as well.

To close things out, those who have purchased this year’s Battle Pass will have the ability to unlock up to 2000 Battle Points on a weekly basis.
