Diablo IV Additional Details Leaked

by in General | Nov, 14th 2019

Blizzard showcased a whole lot at the most recent BlizzCon, that’s for sure. But when it came to Diablo IV details, they weren’t quite ready to go “all out,” and we understand why. They wanted to showcase just how far they got as far as development goes but keep their cards close to the chest for various reasons. Maybe they want to surprise us in a couple of months, or perhaps they’re just extra careful after the whole Diablo Immortal fiasco that happened last year.

Be that as it may, we got enough information to get our imaginations running, and — what’s even better — more than a fair bit of actual gameplay. This time, however, we have a bunch of additional Diablo IV details, and they’re quite fascinating.

The details listed below come from a Blizzard employee who shared a ton of information regarding the game back in summer. His Reddit post, however, was mostly ridiculed and labeled as “speculation.” In hindsight, however, everything leaked was spot-on with what Blizzard showed us mere weeks ago, so fans quickly went back to find the post and examine it in more detail, now that it is accurate.

Just keep in mind that this individual wrote about everything he saw during an early in-house preview of the game. A lot could have changed since then, so don’t take this as definitive information.

Diablo IV New Details

  • Blizzard is planning a closed beta for players in 2020.
  • If things go according to plan, the game could launch either in late 2020 or early 2021. This detail — while exciting — is certainly not set in stone.
  • The game is also being developed for PlayStation 5 and the console superseding Xbox One (currently known as Xbox Scarlett).
  • Beside the Barbarian, Druid and Sorcerer classes, the full-fledged game will include both Amazon and Paladin as well. Blizzard plans to add additional classes through expansions and DLC, with the first one being Necromancer.
  • Blizzard has a cautious and conscientious approach to the entire combat system to make it as console friendly as possible but still aims to make the PC player base satisfied with the result.
  • Blizzard heard what the fans wanted after Diablo III loud and clear and have designed Diablo IV with those critiques in mind.
  • The latest installment will also include previous features like wardrobe layouts, the Kanai Cube, seasonal journeys, and much more. They want to retain the best aspects of Diablo III and use them as a foundation for the fourth one.

It is quite a fascinating list of Diablo IV details. Nothing stands out, but it certainly gives us a lot of information to ponder. Perhaps most importantly, it sounds like Blizzard wants to create a spectacular game that will win over both grizzled Diablo veterans and newcomers alike. One thing is for sure: 2020/2021 can’t come soon enough!
