Dawn, a member of Procter & Gamble is teaming up with Overwolf, a popular gaming platform to launch a special environment-friendly Minecraft challenge. #DawnSavesWildlife is the name and it introduces an interesting challenge that’s bound to captivate millions of Minecraft players worldwide!

What is #DawnSavesWildlife?

#DawnSavesWildlife is a Minecraft building challenge in which players will compete in designing the most creative Minecraft environments depicting wildlife. The prize pool is quite hefty – the best creations will get $30,000 in gaming hardware!

“Dawn is dedicated to creating a cleaner world for wildlife – starting at the sink, with products designed to get dishes cleaner faster while using fewer resources, and at the shore, where we work with rescue experts to care for wildlife,” commented Kristine Decker, Senior Vice President, North America Dish Care at Procter & Gamble. “We can’t wait to see Dawn’s mission come to life in a completely new way thanks to the creativity of the Minecraft community. We hope this challenge inspires people and emphasizes the need to protect the world we share with wildlife.”

Interesting fact – for each #DawnSavesWildlife video clip, Dawn will donate $5 to their non-profit partners.

Details

The challenge starts on September 20th and will run through October 17th. How to submit your work? It’s simple – post videos of your creations to Twitter with the tag #DawnSavesWildlife. Each week throughout the duration of the challenge, judges from Dawn, Overwolf and their non-profit partners (The Marine Mammal Center and International Bird Rescue) will award three top creators with an Alienware gaming PC.

If you’re a Minecraft player looking for a new computer, this may just be the contest for you.

At the end of the challenge, there will also be consolation prizes in the form of Oculus Rift Quest VR headsets. This means that, even if you don’t have the most creative wildlife environment, you can still win something.

#DawnSavesWildlife judges will rank the clips on three criteria:

  • Quality and complexity of the environment
  • The connection to Dawn’s wildlife efforts
  • Overall video clip production quality

There’s plenty of time for you to create an amazing Minecraft environment and polish your video editing skills. For more information on how to participate and the contest rules, please visit this page.

We wish you the best of luck!
