Cloud9 Confirms Perkz Signing

If you’re a fan of Cloud9, you have a reason to celebrate: Luka “Perkz” Perković has finally been confirmed! This means that the boys in black and blue will start 2021 off with the most successful and revered Western player of all time. Perkz is as big of a legend as they come and his longevity and sheer talent are matched by only a handful of other players.
And now he’ll move across the Atlantic, reunite with his former marksman (Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen), and attempt to become the second European player to win both the LEC and LCS. Quite a lofty goal, but it’s by no means unreasonable, especially for a competitive giant like Perkz.
A New Chapter
Starting a new chapter in North America is also a big enough challenge that’ll surely motivate this Croatian mid lane legend. His career is simply awe-inspiring, and after dominating on European soil for so long, it’s time for him to move on and face a different slew of challengers and opponents. Granted, he won’t have such stiff opposition over in NA, but it’s not like it’ll be smooth sailing either. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen and Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage (of Team Liquid and Team SoloMid, respectively) will surely give Perkz a run for his money, although it’s fair to say that his well-known lane kingdom isn’t going anywhere.
Perkz is still at the top of his game and watching him compete under the Cloud9 banner will be an absolute must. He’ll have some of the best possible teammates too, so the odds of him hoisting the LCS trophy in a couple of months’ time are definitely high. That said, there are still a couple of endlessly fascinating questions in the air: will they be able to fend off Team Liquid, a bona fide superteam? Will their new top laner be able to fill the void left by Eric “Licorice” Ritchie’s absence? Will this seasoned player-turned-coach succeed where Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu failed?
So many burning questions and yet no answers in sight. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out. Mark your calendars, folks, because the 2021 LCS Spring Split is going to be packed with action!
