The secret is out, the Cloud9 Apex Legends Roster was officially announced roughly a day ago, and all I can say is wow. Clearly the USA-based esports organization wasn’t cheaping out on good talent. With Frexs, Grego, PVPX, and Chappie all wearing their colors now, Cloud9 is bound to be a force to be reckoned with in the first wave of Apex Legends esports competitions.

In addition to Cloud9, a number of well-known esports organizations are taking interest in the brand-new battle royale game by Respawn Entertainment. Rogue, 100 Thieves, NRG, North, Team SoloMid and several others have either showed interest in acquiring or have already acquired an Apex Legends roster.

But where is this craze coming from? What’s so special about Apex Legends that made this many teams interested? Well, let me tell you more about that in the next couple of paragraphs.

Apex Legends’ Rise to Fame

Apex Legends was released in early February and managed to gather more than 50 million players in its first 30 days of existence. As a result, Apex has managed to make over $92 million in profit, setting a high bar for all free to play games out there.

This extremely dynamic and interesting take on the already highly popular battle royale genre seems to be the perfect combination. It’s perfectly suited to lure new players in and then keep them entertained for quite a while.

Needless to say, I’m playing my fair share of Apex Legends too, and I can testify that it’s a generally pleasing game. Especially if you’re in a full team. Its team-based aspects have been heightened to perfection, playing a key part in Apex Legends’ rapid rise to the top of the industry.
