Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies Reveal Event Announced

by in Call of Duty | Oct, 12th 2021

Call of Duty Vanguard is a breath of fresh air for some players in the community with its return to World War II format. Furthermore, the Zombies mode in Sledgehammer Games’ previous title, WWII, was one of the best, so many are excited for the Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies mode.

Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies Reveal Announced

Demons and Nazis Are Coming to Zombies

Furthermore, the Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies reveal announcement was accompanied by a very short 10-second video that gives us a glimpse of the atmosphere and style of the upcoming Zombies mode. It is mainly just some still art images and a logo, but it is enough to give us something to go off of.

For one, if you were still wondering, it does look like the Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies experience will be set in the World War II era or at least contain characters from that time. This may seem obvious, but it is also weird to go from the 1980s in Zombies for Black Ops Cold War and then back in time.

However, in the teaser video, we can see that there are what look to be Nazi soldiers and some other odd characters standing in front of the wave of zombie and demon hordes that are getting ready to destroy everything in this location.

It also has a logo for the new Zombies experience that is red, glowing, and quite menacing. Overall, the Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies reveal announcement does not show off the new game mode for the upcoming 2021 title, but it does give us a lot of information to go off of.

Vanguard Zombies Will Continue the Dark Aether Storyline

For starters, we already know that Sledgehammer Games, the main developer for the upcoming World War II game, is not creating the new round-based mode. Instead, Treyarch is making its return to the Zombies helm once more.

For the first time, the main Zombies storyline that Treyarch is known for is making its way outside of the core Black Ops titles and diving into another section of the franchise. The Dark Aether storyline started in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War is now making its way to the Vanguard Zombies experience.

It is there that the next chapter of the new storyline will begin with players following up on the events of what happened in Cold War. Interestingly enough, it looks like this new chapter will see the release of the demon horde from hell or something of the sort.

Or, perhaps, players will go into the realms of hell to take down the Omega corporation or whoever is causing all of this madness to happen in the first place. It seems that this new experience will not only have demons thrown in the mix but possibly bring back some Nazi Zombies’ love.

Hopefully This New Zombies Will Blend Horror and Story

Nazi Zombies was one of the best parts of the last game from Sledgehammer Games, so it would be nice to see a mix of what was done there with the Treyarch storytelling style. After all, the Zombies mode in WWII was one of the most terrifying and intense in franchise history.

Given the release of this game not even a full week after Halloween, it looks like this will be a great way to enjoy some creepy goodness right at the height of the spooky holiday season. Hopefully, Treyarch will be able to blend horror from Nazi Zombies and the Dark Aether storyline.

The timing of this Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies reveal is quite interesting, too, since the sixth and final season connecting Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is just getting started. This final season includes the last Zombies round-based map for that game mode as well.

The Timing of This Announcement Is Key

With it having launched last week, players can now jump in and see what the final map is all about. There are plenty of players who have been able to finish the main quest on the map, too, and see how the story of this first Dark Aether chapter has concluded.

It is now the perfect time to announce the next chapter of the storyline with the Vanguard Zombies mode. While it is currently unknown how the story will pan out, it will possibly spoil what happened in Black Ops Cold War, so it is good that players have had enough time to see the ending of the Dark Aether storyline in Cold War like.

Keep in mind that the Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies reveal is coming later this week on Thursday, October 14. We will be sure to post the full recap of the announcement and everything that we know about what this new era of Nazi Zombies will be like when it is announced, so be sure to stay tuned for that.
