Call of Duty Modern Warfare Update 1.07 Patch Notes
Activision is continuing its support for the recently launched Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The reboot of sorts for the long-running sub-series of shooters in the franchise is mostly liked in the community, but it does have some notable issues with some weapons and modes.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Update 1.07 Patch Notes Are Here
Thankfully, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare update 1.07 patch notes are here to address some of the issues that players have been dealing with since the game launched in late October. This isn’t the first update for the game post-launch, but it is one of the biggest for sure.
The latest update addresses some issues like the controversial shotguns situation that has all but broken the metagame, in online multiplayer, as well as other features like buffs and changes. There are even some new content that players can enjoy with this update.
Everything that you will find in the patch notes below is available for free to everyone, including the brand-new content added to the game. Also, it is available to everyone across all platforms, which is sure to help those players who hate exclusives and timed content from previous titles.
Without further ado, let’s go ahead and jump right in and look at everything available in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare update 1.07 patch notes. From tons of changes to the gameplay and weapons to new content that is available right now, here’s everything that you need to know.
Modern Warfare Update 1.07: New Maps and Playlists
It all kicks off with the most exciting stuff that players have access to in this update with the new content added to the game. With this update, players can enjoy new modes, playlists, and even maps. Yes, there are new maps for the game not even a few weeks from its launch.
Not one but two entirely new maps have been added to the game with the release of update 1.07. The first map is Krovnik Farmland, which is a more rural map that is added to the Ground War playlist for the game. At the same time, there is another new map available in multiplayer.
The Shoot House map has been added to the online multiplayer suite. Players will be able to enjoy both maps moving forward as they will be available in their respective playlists. Speaking of playlists, there is a new playlist to check out as well a new mode for the game.
Welcome home.

Players will finally be able to enjoy a “new” mode (at least in this game) in the form of Hardpoint, which will be familiar to series veterans. It is a take on the classic King of the Hill mode where the hill is moving every so often and teams are contesting over the various points where it appears.
As you and your team are standing in the Hardpoint objective, you will be racking up points every second unless the enemy team enters with you. At this point, the area will be contested, and no one will be receiving any points from it.
Occasionally, the Hardpoint area will change to a new location to keep everyone on their toes. To win in this mode, players must be swift enough to reach the new contested areas but also strategic enough to not let the enemy show up and take it with ease.
A winner is crowned when the first team reaches the designated score limit, or whichever team with the most points will win if the time limit runs out first. It is an exciting mode and one that we are honestly surprised it wasn’t available at launch, but its quick inclusion is welcome for sure.
Besides Hardpoint, there is a new playlist available in online multiplayer that will be great for players who like to focus on getting eliminations. The new Shoot House 24/7 playlist is now available and features a collection of kill-based modes.
The modes that you can find in this new playlist are Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Headquarters. With the Shoot House 24/7 name, this playlist is likely dedicated to the new Shoot House map, and players will have one of the four modes randomly selected for it.
Modern Warfare Update 1.07: General Changes for the Game
Beyond the new additions in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare update 1.07 patch notes, there are some important general changes in this update as well. It all starts with the performance of the game as Activision has made some backend fixes to prevent crashes and improve stability across all platforms.
These include the developer errors and other various performance fixes that players should now experience more often. The general stability is great since there were players who were dealing with crashes both in and out of multiplayer matches plus having performance instability issues.
There are also some fixes for a few bugs where some streaks and field upgrades were able to be flown out of bounds without penalty. While a strange and random issue with the game, some general out of bounds fixes have been applied to ensure players aren’t engaging in game-breaking activities.
There is a fix for a bug where a player who is killed by an enemy with a variable zoom scope would not see the zoom function during the killcam. There is also a solution for the Semtex warning audio being heard by players at the same volume, whether they are in a building or outside.
In the Headquarters mode, there was an overpowered issue where the team who owned a point could place down a Tac Insert and have their teammates respawn their upon death. This has been fixed so that the game mode should be more balanced all around.
There are fixes for some various collision issues that were happening across maps. Players should now see the added UI as well that shows when experience events are happening in the playlist menus. Players should see a change in speed, too, as the sprint and tactical sprint speeds are back to what they were during the beta testing phase for the game.
There is a bug where the progress of the bomb refusal would be seen by the team who planted the bomb, and it has been fixed. There was another bug where players would been by a UAV even if they had the Ghost and silencer features equipped to them.
Then there is also a fix for an issue where multiple players would use the personal radar to mark the same enemy, and only one of them would be able to see the enemy.
Modern Warfare Patch 1.07 Notes: Changes to the Riot Shield

Beyond the general bug fixes in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare update 1.07 patch notes, there are some specific changes for items and features in the game. It all begins with the riot shield where a couple of bug fixes have been applied to it.
There is a fix for the riot shield where the throwing knife and thermite items weren’t causing the shield to go onto the player’s back when thrown. There is also a fix for the shield where explosive splash damage wasn’t working consistently as it should have. The riot shield will continue to be tuned in future updates.
Claymore has been changed where detonating an enemy claymore with any bullets will be non-lethal to players who have full health. The trigger and damage radius have been reduced, too, along with the damage width. This overall nerf of the claymore should make it fairer to use.
The ability for your enemies to hear when they’ve been called out by the opposing team has been removed from the game. Battle chatter has been adjusted a bit for enemies and will be changed more in the future. There is also a slight increase to recoil while you are mounting an object.
There are continued updates to the player visibility in dark windows on maps and darker areas. The sound footsteps and movement has been changed up a good bit in this update but there is more to come. Crouching and ADS movement will be significantly quieter in the future, too.
In terms of challenges and progression, there are a few specific changes here. There is a fix for a bug where the Infiltrator challenge was not tracking properly online. Another problem is solved where launchers were not giving experience for shooting down killstreaks successfully.
There is also a fix for a bug where planting or defusing five bombs in cyber-attack or Search and Destroy was not tracking either. The time has been increased for the camo challenge for kills after a reload so players have enough time to get a kill after reloading their weapon.
Finally, there is a fix for a bug where the experience required to reach the next rank in the game was higher than the value needed for it.
Modern Warfare Patch 1.07 Notes: Weapon Nerfs and Buffs
Players will be happy to know that some major buffs and debuffs are added with this update, including a nerf for the controversial 725 shotgun. There is an increase to ADS (aim down the sights) and hip spread, but there is also a reduced damage range, so it doesn’t have a sniper-level range.
725 is the best sniper in the game from r/modernwarfare
Hopefully the nerf will result in fewer clips like this
For the M4A1 assault rifle, the damage range has been reduced for it, but the small recoil has increased as well. For assault rifles in general, there is increased hip spread to reduce effectiveness up close and less damage at long range for full auto 5.56 rifles.
SMGs have been buffed significantly as well, having increased movement speed, ADS speed, and a small reduction in sprint out time. For the Uzi, specifically, it has increased damage range as well. The MG34 LMG has increased hip spread, damage range reduction, and a bit of ADS slow down.
On the other hand, the M91 LMG has increased hip spread and a small bit of damage range reduction. The PKM has increased hip spread and a more significant medium reduction for its damage range. For all pistols, there is now increased move speed, reduced sprint out time, and increased damage range.
Crouch and prone will no longer adjust recoil as well. There is also a fix for a bug where a player could lose their primary weapon and would be unable to see their view model after being revived by a teammate. In Ground War, there is a fix for players being unable sometimes to pick their spawn location.
And there is also a fix for a bug where the Tac Insert could cause players to spawn on the enemy home base, which made things potentially unfair.
Modern Warfare Patch 1.07 Notes: Special Ops Changes
