Activision recently posted the latest this week in Call of Duty blog on the official Activision blog. Like in previous weeks, this week’s blog goes over changes and additions are coming to various Call of Duty games out this week.

The blog includes major details on both the mainline Modern Warfare game on PC and consoles (which we’ve already covered) but also the mobile game as well. The big thing launching this week in the mobile iteration of the first-person shooter franchise is a new event.

Call of Duty Mobile Winter Holiday Festival Now Available

The Call of Duty Mobile Winter Holiday Festival is now available. If you have the free game downloaded on your mobile device, be it Android or iOS, you can enjoy some of the festivities now. On the other hand, more is on the way soon.

It starts with the first activities which offer multiple tasks and objectives for players to complete. These challenges reward players with points for completing the various activities.

The points are essential for the holiday event since you can redeem the unique currency for exclusive rewards. It started on December 6 with the release of the Gravity Spikes event in the game.

With that event, players completed various objectives that granted the chance to learn a new Operator skill called Gravity Spikes. Unlike the mainline game in the series that also has Operators, that feature in the mobile game is a unique skill that you can use in multiplayer as part of your loadout.

There are various objectives available in the game that players can do to earn the new Operator skill for free. If you complete them before the event ends, you can use it without having to spend any in-game currency.

The event ends December 15. After that, the Gravity Spikes skill will be available in the credit section of the store. If you are unable to play long enough to complete all objectives or worried about not having enough time, you can still buy it after the event.

Beyond the mini-event, two new crates are available in the store as well. These are the M4 Black Gold weapon crate and the Ghost Plasma crate, both available for a limited time.

The crates are available in the store until December 26, just after Christmas so you won’t want to miss out on these holiday event crates. In addition to those two crates, another cosmetic item joins them soon.

The Locus – Cosmos weapon arrives in the game store on December 13. If you don’t want to spend money on items, there is a new free camo you can earn for one of the weapons in the game.

New Game Mode, Map Changes, and More

The Team Up Challenge tasks players with playing with your friends in various game modes in which you can earn the Jack Frost camo skin for the M21 EBR weapon, but you must do it before the challenge ends on December 19.

The Call of Duty Mobile Winter Holiday Festival also has new decorations for the battle royale map. If you like playing that mode, you will see some holiday decorations in various parts of the region. In addition to a special Zombie Santa boss roaming around different areas of the map.

Finally, the One Shot, One Kill new limited-time game mode drops in the game on December 13. This easy to grasp mode is an interesting twist on the familiar One in the Chamber party mode.

It is a simple premise where players are dropped into a free-for-all style game mode. You are only given three bullets at the start of the match. The goal is to get 20 kills first to claim victory for that match. The twist is that it only takes one shot to kill your foes.

More details on that game mode and the rest of the Call of Duty Mobile Winter Holiday Festival event are on the way soon. Stay tuned here for everything you need to know about this special winter event in the mobile game.
