Call of Duty Mobile Update Launches First Halloween Event
Though Call of Duty Mobile has only been out for a few weeks now since its launch in early October, Activision is already releasing the latest update for the game, and it is the biggest one yet.
Players can look forward to a new limited-time event in the game that is the first of its kind, some new content for players to enjoy, some news regarding what’s on the way in the future, and much more. Of course, it all starts with the new Call of Duty Mobile Halloween event that is going on right now.
Everything You Need to Know About the Halloween Event
The very first seasonal event is available for the game right now if you are reading this. The spooky season of Halloween is here, and we are right in the midst of autumn. As such, it is no surprise that this massive online mobile shooter is taking full advantage of that with the Call of Duty Mobile Halloween event.
This limited-time Halloween event is available right now and will be until Monday, November 25. Players will have until then to enjoy all the seasonal festivities and more that are going on in the game. It all starts with you logging into the game in the first place.
If you log in during the Call of Duty Mobile Halloween until November 1, you will receive a free reward just for showing up. That reward is a free Artic.50 sniper rifle that is decorated with some creepy bat camo to get you a head start in showing off how much a fan of Halloween you are.
But that’s not all, of course. Players can enjoy the Standoff fan-favorite map in the multiplayer side of things that will be Halloween-themed. The map will be shown off in the middle of the night rather than the normal bright and sunny version of the map.
Also, the streets are lined with pumpkins and other orange lights that make the area somewhat lit but also rather dim at the same time. The moon is also massive in the sky, looming over the creepier version of the map that will feature markedly different style since seeing will be a bit harder.
Players will be able to play on the Standoff map during the event in the Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Domination modes of the game. It seems like there aren’t any major map changes to the Isolated map for battle royale currently.
While the Halloween event is going on, players will be able to earn various exclusive rewards. This is done by playing multiplayer matches where Operators will be dropping Pumpkin ID cards. Collecting enough of these cards from other players will allow you to redeem them for awesome rewards.
One reward that is touted in the announcement post is the bat camo parachute that players can get from collecting ID tags. That parachute will be available for use in the battle royale section of the game. But that isn’t the only way that you can get special Halloween items.
While the event is going on, players will be able to get new Halloween items from the in-game store, the lucky draw system, and other ways. These include various rewards like a new soldier to use online, different skins, and other weapon skins like the Zombie Gene camo.
For those who are interested, the first post-launch Operator will be added to multiplayer in the form of Sparrow. The fan-favorite Operator will be joining the game, letting players use their bow and arrow skill that has some explosiveness to it.
While the Halloween event is going on, players will be able to complete various tasks that are offered in multiplayer and battle royale to earn some points. Those points will then be allowed for redemption to unlock the Sparrow Operator for your multiplayer loadout.
The Call of Duty Mobile Halloween event is live right now and players can begin earning the rewards, new Sparrow Operator, and checking out the latest version of the Standoff map until the event ends. You have over a month to go since the event concludes on Monday, November 25.
News and Other Updates
While the Halloween event is going on right now, that isn’t the only event that players can enjoy during October. There is also a snipers-only mode that is going in the multiplayer suite. This allows players to show off their sniping skills online, where everyone is on the same page.

Also, there are some snipers-only challenges during the limited-time mode that you can complete that will earn you some rewards. Beyond that, there is another event in the form of the Sparrow Operator skill event. This limited-time event is all about the new Operator in multiplayer.
This is where players can collect points from the battle royale and multiplayer matches in hopes of unlocking the new Sparrow Operator. Players who like bows and arrows or want to fill out their collection will want to do this event to unlock the new skill power.
Addressing Feedback From Community
In the patch notes for the first major post-launch update for the mobile shooter, Activision also went over some of the player feedback that it has received from the community since the game launched. Not only does the company want players to continue leaving feedback, but it addressed some of it as well.
The first of these feedback topics were cheaters being reported in the game. Players have been sending in videos and reporting players online who are, supposedly, cheating within the realms of multiplayer and battle royale.
Activision just gave a fair blanket statement that it remains committed to keeping cheaters out of the online matches and will make sure that those who intended not to play fair in the game will be caught and punished. As such, players should continue to report and send in feedback regarding cheating players so that this issue can be addressed even more.
As for the topic of limited-time modes, the community has been actively noting that it would like to see many of the limited time modes stick around in the game permanently. Most recently, players have had the chance to enjoy stuff like free for all and the fan-favorite Gun Game.
These modes are classic staples in the franchise, and they were implemented well within the confines of the touchscreen-based mobile game. However, both modes were only available to players for a limited time. This is unfortunate, especially for those players who love playing them in the mainline console and PC versions of the game.
Activision noted in the patch notes that it appreciates that players are not only trying out these various limited-time modes, but that they love them enough to want them to become a permanent addition to the multiplayer options in the game.
While there is nothing the developer can say regarding the likelihood of these limited-time modes (or any other for that matter) joining multiplayer for good. It does want players to keep leaving feedback regarding this topic.
According to Activision, the community’s desire to play these modes even more “matters,” and the feedback is requested. Finally, in the topic of feedback, there is the debate of master ranks and the overall progression system in the game.
Like other online games, it allows for players to progress not only through a leveling system with its rewards exclusive to it, but there is a seasonal battle pass as well. However, there are a good number of players who have already reached the highest possible ranks in the game.
Those players are, of course, leaving feedback with Activision regarding what’s next for the online progression of the game. The developer didn’t have anything specific to announce regarding this. But players do have something to look forward to in the future.
Activision noted that there is plenty more coming in the future, and it is going to aim to keep finding ways to reward those players who reach the top of the progression. More on these additions and changes will be revealed later in some future updates for the game.
Bug Reports and More
As always, a new update for the game wouldn’t be complete without addressing some of the bugs that are in the game currently. Like with the general feedback that players have, the community should continue always to report any bugs that they run into within the game.
Activision took time to, specifically, address a few of the problems that are in the game currently. The first of these is the reload animation issue, where players are reporting problems with how long it takes for the reload animation to finish.
For some players, the reload animation weapons are not synced up with the real-time it takes for the reload action to happen. As such, this can lead to moments where the gun has reloaded but looks like it hasn’t due to the animation still happening onscreen and vice versa.
This issue is already well under investigation by the developer, and it asks that players no longer send in videos and reports regarding it. Due to this, we expect that the issue is one that will be one of the first to be resolved in an upcoming update.
For players having trouble with the game when it came to link their in-game account to their Facebook account, there are some solutions to this. It is recommended that the player tries clearing the cache on their phone or device first, then logging back into Facebook on the app and trying logging again on the game.
For players reporting problems with their transactions in-game, there is a possible solution. Some players are purchasing points for the game or specific items only to find that they don’t receive the points or the item they wanted.
If you experience this problem, make sure the transaction is successful, such as checking your bank info and wait a few hours to let it go through. What you are going to want to do then is restart the game and see if you have the items you’re supposed to.
If the transaction did go through and you still don’t see what you purchased, you will need to contact the player support directly to address this problem.
There is a lot to this first major update for Call of Duty Mobile since the launch at the beginning of October. From more details on the Call of Duty Mobile Halloween event itself to the various bug reports, other news, and more, there is a lot to take in.
