Call of Duty Mobile Season 7 Release Date Delayed
Activision has made the swift decision to delay the Call of Duty Mobile Season 7 release date for the time being. Many players on Android and iOS were looking forward to the seventh season of the mobile Call of Duty title, but they will need to wait just a little bit longer to check it out.
Call of Duty Mobile Season 7 Release Date Delayed
The Call of Duty Mobile Season 7 release date delay has nothing to do with the actual game itself from what we can tell and all to do with the current state of the United States of America. This decision was announced on Twitter by the official Call of Duty account.
The message on Twitter doubled as a delay announcement for Season 7 of Call of Duty Mobile as well as the company’s declaration of support for the movement that is happening right now in the country. It began by stating that we are all looking forward to the next season, but now isn’t the time.
The Call of Duty Mobile Season 7 release date has been moved to a later date to allow for the focus to be on what matters right now, and that is the movement that is happening across the nation in many different cities and states as people fight together against injustices that have gone on too long.
“Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice, and change to be seen and heard,” Activision wrote on the Call of Duty account. “We stand alongside you.”
New Release Date Is Currently Unknown
For now, we don’t know the new Season 7 release date, but we do know that it will likely be some time soon. If we were to guess, it would likely be by the end of this month but we could see it release at the beginning of July, instead of the beginning of June.
Originally, the Call of Duty Mobile Season 7 release date was going to be set for early this month, and maybe even this week. But this week has come and gone without any announcement regarding the date and time for the new season until this announcement was made.
So, while the new season for Call of Duty Mobile players might have been originally set for this week or next, that isn’t going to be the case for the time being. But this does likely mean that the current Season 6 will continue in the meantime and give players that to play for now.
This is great for those players who still need to catch up on everything in the current season, since battle pass seasons aren’t that long in Call of Duty Mobile and it can be easy to get busy and miss out on reaching the max tier for that particular season.
Delay Was Made Likely in Response to Protests
The game will continue to run, so that isn’t a problem, so players who are looking to get their Call of Duty Mobile on can still do that while we wait for the release of Season 7. From what we know so far, Season 7 will likely continue the trend of adding new game modes and maps to the mobile title.
This sudden decision by Activision was likely not planned, but instead, made as a response to the growing Black Lives Matter movement across the nation in direct response to the murder of George Floyd by a cop in Minneapolis.
It didn’t take long for many cities and states around the country to start their protests against Floyd’s murder and the general racial injustices that have been going on for far too long. While Activision didn’t directly mention the movement, this was more of an indirect support message for the protestors.
The new season of Call of Duty Mobile isn’t the only thing to be affected in the case of Activision’s properties. In the same announcement, it was revealed that the new season of Modern Warfare and Warzone will also be delayed for the time being, with a new date to be announced later on.
Activision Isn’t the First Game Company to Do This
Activision is far from the first game company to decide this in recent days and it will likely not be the last one either as the protests continue each day. Sony already revealed its delay for something, not even a full week after announcing it.
The long-awaited PlayStation 5 reveal event was going to happen originally later this week after many in the community have been clamoring for information regarding the upcoming console. There are still so many unknowns about it, even though it releases later this year.
Originally, the huge reveal event was to happen this Thursday but Sony made the quick decision to shift that to a later date to make sure that the focus right now is on the protests around the United States. This means that players will likely have to wait a little bit longer to find out what games will be on the PS5, how much it will cost, what it will look like, and so on.
That same reveal event might have even been where we would have seen the first reveal announcement for the next Call of Duty game. The new 2020 game will likely be available on both the current generation of consoles and the next-gen as well, but we could see an announcement at that event.
After all, Sony and Activision have had partnerships for a while now and the Call of Duty 2020 still hasn’t been revealed, although we are already in June when most new announcements in the series are made in May before releasing in the fall.
