Call of Duty Mobile is one of the biggest games in the world right now, especially on mobile devices. It looks like it won’t be stopping anytime soon in the new year. We are a few days into 2020 and there are already leaks of what’s to come for the game.

With the game being in the middle of its Season 2 battle royale and multiplayer pass right now and the third season looming ever closer, players are getting ready for what’s next for the excellent mobile version of the popular first-person military shooter franchise.

We are happy to announce the most recent leak for the game. It reveals what looks to be the next map that players can play on in multiplayer. A YouTuber recently leaked the new Call of Duty Mobile Cage map in a gameplay video.

New Call of Duty Cage Map Leaked in Video

YouTuber Viiper Gaming posted a clip of the new map in action. This new area is going to be a new map for the online multiplayer portion of the game.

Though the game had the Zombies mode in the past and it has always had battle royale since its launch in early October 2019, it looks like Call of Duty Mobile Cage map will be strictly for multiplayer. It offers a unique gameplay experience, unlike any other map to date.

The name Cage is its name for a reason. The actual map itself does a great job of capturing the look and feel of a cage. It looks to be one of the smallest maps ever to be released for a Call of Duty game. It allows for frenetic, fast-paced gameplay like no other.

According to the YouTuber, it supposedly is smaller than the popular map Nuketown. If you look at the map’s layout, you will see why this is a little cage where players are trapped inside.

There are only two main lanes that players can run up and down north to south, with two spawn points on the opposite ends of the map. There is one lane on the left and another on the right. Although they look rather long, they are short in the game itself.

You can cross from one side to another in just a few seconds, and you are likely to run into several enemies along the way. The two lanes are mirrored images of one another, having mostly the same layout but flipped for both sides of the Call of Duty Mobile Cage map.

In the middle of the map, though, there is a larger structure that connects the two lanes. This is the only way that you can go between the two sides of the map without having to go back to the spawn locations on either the north or south sides.

The Call of Duty Mobile Cage presents a claustrophobic-like style that will have players constantly in battle with the other team. Even in 5 vs. 5 matches, the YouTuber is continuously going from fighting one enemy player to another during the duration of the match.

The match itself that the player is checking out this leaked map on is the Snipers Only limited-time mode. The new mode is only in the game for a short time and is as the name states: You can only play with sniper rifles.

This leads to absolute chaos in the video clip as players are trying to get around one another and snipe each other in these two small lanes. It is a bizarre way of showing off the map as the game mode doesn’t exactly lend itself well to every single player having only sniper rifles to fight with even though they usually do work on Cage.

What Type of Map Cage Is

If playing on smaller maps is the type of gameplay style that you like, you will be right at home on the Cage map. Though it is tight and narrow, it does also have some gameplay advantages for players who like to snipe. Even though the map is small, it does have some variety in its multiple levels.

There are a lot of different floors throughout the map with each of the many buildings that you run through, having at least one more floor that you can get up to. This includes the main building in the middle of the map that connects the two lanes where a sniper can hide well.

With the verticality to the map, there are a lot of vantage points where you can see across the map and easily take out the enemies from afar. In this way, it caters to both the run-and-gun type players and the snipers who like to camp out and do damage from a safe distance.

Even still, though, there is a nice balance on the new Call of Duty Mobile Cage map that ensures that one play style isn’t much better than another for it. If you like to play with an SMG or shotgun and run around getting those quick kills, you can easily do so.

The narrow nature of this map will lend itself well to those players who can get quick kills in a short time before the enemy even knows what hit them. This is countered and kept in check by the snipers who can camp in various locations and take out those swift players with ease.

However, even the snipers themselves are kept in check by the quick players as well since they can get up to the snipers with short notice and take them out. All in all, it seems to be a balanced map that will be a great addition for those two types of players in the mobile game.

However, the other types of players will have a harder time keeping up with those play styles on this map. If you are someone who likes to use the assault rifle at mid-range for keeping a bit of distance between you and the enemy, you aren’t likely to do super well on this new map.

Also, those players who prefer using an LMG for those rapidfire attacks from mid to long-range, then you won’t be at home here either. It is certainly possible that you could make an LMG or assault rifle work on this map, but it will take skill and being prepared for anything.

The map itself is almost entirely outdoors under the sun, looking to be in a portion of a city that is under construction. You will pass through a lot of buildings where the steel beams and walls are still being made. This leaves a lot of gaps and walkways for players to traverse through.

The gaps ensure that you can get an eye on what’s ahead of you for hitting nearby players with your shotgun or SMG while the walkways lead to the upper areas where the snipers will reign supreme. Even though the map has a construction zone feel, there is one building that is complete.

In the distance, you can see a large building that looks to be a replica of the Tencent headquarters building in Shenzhen, China. It makes sense for this building to make an appearance on this map since Tencent did have a hand in developing the mobile iteration of the popular franchise.

When Cage and Season 3 Will Release

With this new map leak, we do know that players will likely not have to wait too much longer to enjoy playing on it. The new Cage map supposedly releases on January 22 when the next season of the game starts.

Season 3 will begin then and allow for players to check out a new battle royale and multiplayer season pass full of new cosmetics, items and more. There is sure to be a lot more content offered in Season 3 beyond this one new map, so stay tuned for the full reveal later this month.
