C9 Perkz Incoming, Cloud9 and G2 Esports Verbally Agree on Perkz Signing

by in League of Legends | Nov, 13th 2020

We have some big news for North American fans: C9 and G2 Esports have verbally agreed on the Luka “Perkz” Perković signing, according to former ESPN reporter Jacob Wolf. This, in short, is absolutely mind-blowing. We’ve already covered this unexpected off-season bombshell, but nothing was official — far from it, in fact. And while we’re still waiting for confirmation from both parties, all signs are pointing towards this being a done deal.

Biggest Signing of the Offseason

The fact that Perkz could actually compete under the C9 banner come 2021 is simply baffling — it’s a combination no one saw coming, and yet it makes so much sense. This Croatian mid lane legend always had high aspirations, and if there’s one North American team that has consistently made a splash on the international stage, it’s Cloud9. Plus, signing for the boys in black and blue would mean he’d reunite with his old teammate Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen. With Perkz aboard, Cloud9 would have an insanely stacked line-up with some of the best Western players to ever step foot on stage. Well, there’s also Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami, but if his recent Academy play is any indication, the sky’s the limit for this young prospect.

Cloud9 wants redemption after their recent (and quite dramatic) fall from grace, and getting Perkz would go a long way towards once again securing a spot at the very top of the region. Plus, if recent rumors end up being correct, they’ll need all the help they can get, with Team SoloMid, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves making huge off-season moves and signings. With such an impressive influx of talent, 2021 is bound to deliver entertainment-wise.

In any case, mere days are separating us from an official announcement. Whether C9 and Perkz ends up being a match made in heaven still remains to be seen, but the potential is certainly there.
