Boombl4 QBF Wages, RFRSH Astralis Sale, More – CS:GO Daily Recap 8/1/2019
Welcome back to another exciting day of CS:GO news! Today we’ll be updating you all on the Boombl4 QBF situation, RFRSH’s selling of Astralis, and Syman Gaming’s logo troubles with the Major.
As always we’ve got a lot to cover, so let’s dive on in.
Boombl4 QBF Drama Continues
Our top story today is an update on the Boombl4 QBF situation we reported on back on Monday.
Quantum Bellator Fire co-owner Vyacheslav Solovyev took to an interview with HLTV to discuss the accusations by Boomb that the team owed him and other former players $95,000 in unpaid wages.
Solovyev states that the team’s wages had been raised to $750 per month before the Boston Major back in 2018, which seems reasonable given their unknown status before the event.
However, he notes that the players seemed different after returning from their run to the events Quarterfinals, and had begun demanding an increase in their wages to $5,000 a month, citing the number as standard for other teams who made it that far at the event.
After a tense back-and-forth between the team and its players, the org settled on a raise to $2,000 a month. Although, strangely after agreeing to the raise, QBF discovered they couldn’t actually afford that amount.
According to the interview, the org had to make a decision as to either finding the funds to afford to keep the team or selling them to someone who could.
With a small window before the new salaries would kick in, the org tried to quickly find someone to purchase the team, but with only the sole Major result to their names, it proved nearly impossible.
Eventually, the org was forced to freeze the team’s salaries, which according to Solovyvev the players were made aware of and led to our current Boombl4 QBF situation.
Winstrike soon after decided to buy out the roster and allegedly agreed to pay the players what they were owed out of the transfer agreement pay.
Both Dekay and Former QBF player Jmqa have both come out already calling the interview a complete farce, with Dekay, in particular, stating he would have a real report on the matter coming out soon.
RFRSHing the Sale
Yesterday we reported that RFRSH had finally sold off Astralis, with two former managers of the team moving over from the company to be a part of the team.
While we thought that would be the end of it, the move has started to receive more and more backlash as further details have come to light.
According to a tweet from Thorin, the team is still owned by RFRSH’s CEO Nikolaj Nyholm through a shell company he’s listed as the owner of.
RFRSH are so delusional they appear to think they can lie about the ownership status of companies you can look up publicly and see the shell companies and primary ownership figures within.

Nyholm responded to the tweet stating they’d jumped the gun on the announcement earlier this week, and that he’d be off listed as the CEO and owner by next Friday.
We’ll be keeping an eye on it until that point to see whether that actually happens or not, so stay tuned.
Syman Says Keep It!
Next up, we’re switching back over to Syman Gaming, who finally has an update on their logo problems with the Berlin Major.
The team reached out to Valve to argue that their logo was fine, and announced on Twitter today that they would be allowed to continue using it for the event.
Glad they got that quickly sorted out, now they can focus on making sure they’re in the best form for the Major.
Unranked
Our last stop today is a literal update: Valve released a new update for CS:GO yesterday, adding big changes to Vertigo and also adding unranked matchmaking.
This mode enables players of any rank to jump into a match with players of a random skill, with no hidden or visible skill level affecting who you’re matched with.
Fan reaction has been incredibly positive so far, as the mode has been a long-requested addition to the game. Many have wanted a mode to relax after a rough game in ranked, so this could be the answer they’ve been looking for.
That’s all we have for today, thanks for reading. Jake will be out of the office tomorrow, so we’ll have more CS:GO news for you next week. Until then, enjoy unranked!
