Bloodborne PS5 Remaster Coming Later This Year, Will Feature Huge Improvements
Bloodborne, the now legendary action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware, has garnered quite a sizable cult following. Not that anyone’s surprised, of course, given its spectacular ambiance and equally impressive (and devilishly challenging) gameplay. The folks over at FromSoftware had taken all that they’ve learned from Demon/Dark Souls and were able to create something so unique and yet so familiar at the same time. They had implemented a slew of new features and gameplay elements as well, all of which were met with a ton of fanfare. A PS5 remaster of Bloodborne has been in the cards for quite a while, but we didn’t have anything concrete to talk about seeing how a good chunk of the project was (and still is) veiled in secrecy — up until now.
Huge Upgrades Are In the Works
Most PS5 ports (and remastered last-gen titles) come with the standard suite of upgrades: high-res textures, improved shadows, a higher frame rate and/or resolution, and (more often than not) noticeably improved loading times. Now, these things are by no means insignificant, but they don’t result in a wholly different experience. It’s always the same game but only slightly touched-up. The bump in FPS is arguably the most noticeable upgrade of them all, but that’s about it.
The depth of these ports and upgrades tends to vary wildly, depending on the game studio and the amount of time that was put into the whole thing.
FromSoftware, however, isn’t handling the remaster. Instead, a completely different studio has been tasked with the job (FromSoftware is probably neck-deep in developing the oh-so-anticipated Elden Ring). The most interesting bit, according to a fairly known leaker, is that the Bloodborne PS5 remaster will go far beyond the standard “4K/60FPS” kind of upgrade. It’ll supposedly be a lot more comprehensive. What that actually means still remains to be seen, but it’s definitely hype-inducing, that’s for sure!
In any case, the fact that there are so many rumors popping up means that we’re probably closer to an official announcement than previously expected. Well, at least that’s what we’re hoping for!
