Bayonetta 3 Release Date Leaks Ahead of Nintendo Direct
Bayonetta 3 is one of the most anticipated exclusive games for the Nintendo Switch and, yet, we still do not know much about it outside of the initial reveal. It has been absent for several years, but it looks like it will finally be coming soon with the recent Bayonetta 3 release date leak.
Bayonetta 3 Release Date Window Seemingly Leaked
While much of the Nintendo Switch fans gear up for the long-awaited Nintendo Direct later today, some of the news that will be announced there has been leaked. Through this, we have found out about some of the announcements that are going to be taking place at the event.
One such announcement is the Bayonetta 3 release date and seemingly new information about this highly anticipated title. The leak of the release window, interestingly enough, comes from Nintendo itself who has graciously given us the information ahead of the Nintendo Direct.
At the same time as leaking information that points to another major announcement that will happen at the event, we also found out about the Bayonetta 3 release date leak. This all comes from the official Nintendo website that happened to put up some new info a little bit earlier than likely intended.
Because of that, we found out that the Bayonetta 3 release date window is set for sometime in 2022. At this point in time, developer Platinum Games and publisher Nintendo are intending for the release of the third game in the Bayonetta series to release on Nintendo sometime next year.
Bayonetta 3 Will Likely Be Revealed in the Direct
While no specific Bayonetta 3 release date was revealed on the website, this tells us that we are at least close enough now to the game being done that we can finally find out the year in which it will be released. This is at least a step up from knowing next to nothing about this latest entry.
Hearing that it is coming in 2022 at least gives us hope for one of the major titles confirmed for Nintendo Switch that has ghosted us for some time now. Four of the main games that players have been looking forward to that we have had little information about include Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, and Shin Megami Tensei V.
It looks like this year alone we have received information about three of them and one is even releasing this year, with the other two set to follow next year. Shin Megami Tensei V, for the longest time, was the only game revealed in the Nintendo Switch showcase in 2017 that had not yet been released.
Fortunately, it is coming later this year in November for fans to finally be able to check it out. In the case of Breath of the Wild 2, or whatever it will end up being called, the sequel to the masterpiece launch title for the Switch is coming out in 2022, perhaps in the first half as well.
Then there is the Bayonetta 3 release date that has leaked today. It will also be reportedly coming in 2022, perhaps in the second half of the year, and help to make good on another one of these games that fans have been wondering about for a long time now.
Bayonetta 3 Was Announced Years Ago
After all, Bayonetta 3 was initially revealed almost four years ago at The Game Awards in 2017. During that beloved awards show that celebrates the gaming industry and has a lot of major announcements, too, it was shown off that we are getting a third game in the Platinum Games series exclusively for Switch, much like what happened with Bayonetta 2 and the Wii U.
However, the announcement was simply a little tease for Bayonetta 3 and that it is coming with little actual footage attached to it. Since then, we have received very little news over the years other than it is still in development and other pieces like that.
Never had we even received a release window until now. That tells us that 2022 is a pretty good candidate for when it will come out, and we anticipate that the Nintendo Direct will supplement that date with the first true gameplay footage of the title in action.
Nintendo eShop Also Teases Bayonetta 3 News
In the meantime, this spotlight on Bayonetta 3, which is potentially going to be the showstopper at the end or beginning of the Direct, continues with even the Nintendo eShop itself. On the featured page, Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2’s remasters have reappeared to be showcased there.
This is pretty random and some of the other games on the featured page included recently released titles like Warioware and Eastward, plus the aforementioned Shin Megami Tensei V that will likely also be shown off in the Nintendo Direct at some point.
Having the remasters be featured randomly is likely not a coincidence and is there to promote them after the formal gameplay reveal and release window announcement for Bayonetta 3. In fact, the 2022 release window is not the only leak to come out of the Nintendo Direct from the House of Mario itself.
Nintendo’s website also briefly leaked another game in the Kirby series with Kirby: Discovery. The only image that we have seen for it shows Kirby in what looks to be an overgrown apocalyptic metropolitan city, so we could be seeing an open world, 3D platformer, or even The Last of Us with a Kirby twist in the Direct, too. Be sure to stay tuned here for our full recap of the Nintendo Direct event and all of its exciting announcements very soon.
