Battlefield 2042 Crossplay Changes Arrive for Xbox Players
Battlefield 2042 is still struggling, even with the numerous changes that have happened lately, but DICE is gradually implementing improvements over and over. Such is the case with the latest update for the game that has brought with it some Battlefield 2042 crossplay changes.
Battlefield 2042 Crossplay Changes and More Arrive
The new patch 3.1 is here, the first update to arrive after the third major update for the game since its launch. That update comes with tons of changes, including more than 150 individual updates to the ongoing large-scale military multiplayer game.
This week, though, this latest update is nothing like that. 3.1 is here to mainly focus on implementing a few key changes that are hindering the game, chief among them being the Battlefield 2042 crossplay changes that are welcome for certain players.
Only a section of players in Battlefield 2042 have been dealing with the crossplay issues. It mainly has to do with Xbox players on both Xbox One and Xbox Series. These Battlefield 2042 crossplay changes should help make the experience much better for players on that platform.
In addition to that, some other major bug fixes and improvements should help deal with some of the problems that players are having right now. Though there are not many fixes, they are each an integral part of improving the experience.
What Crossplay Changes Are Here
First up on the list are the aforementioned Battlefield 2042 crossplay changes for Xbox users. On that platform, players should find a major improvement for the menu when it comes to crossplay. These changes ensure that Xbox players can now more easily opt-out of crossplay.
This is especially important for those who do not want to play with other platforms out there. If you do not want to mix with PlayStation and PC players, it was somewhat confusing how to turn off the crossplay feature and avoid the other groups of players.
Fortunately, the menu has been updated to allow players to figure out how to turn off crossplay more easily. As for why someone would want to take advantage of this, there are a few reasons, not least of which is that it means possibly avoiding some of the hackers and cheaters that would be on the PC side.
Then there is the fact that I, personally, like to disable crossplay sometimes, especially when I’m not trying to play with friends, since it can make the chances of entering a brand new match that has not started, instead of one that is already in progress, a bit higher.
Other Changes in the Update
Other than the Battlefield 2042 crossplay changes for Xbox users out there, there are some general improvements for all platforms regarding the bullets hitting more consistently. Furthermore, there are some balance changes for the bullet dispersion and recoil to make shooting likely feel better.
In addition, there are some balancing-wise changes in the ground vehicle 30mm, 40mm, and 57mm cannons to make it so that they are not nearly as effective against the players fighting on foot, which should help with the annoyances of being an infantry soldier.
A rare bug would occur where players would appear invisible to enemies, which makes the game completely unbalanced, and it has, thankfully, been fixed here. Several bugs have been addressed when it comes to explosive weaponry like grenades and launchers.
And last but not least, for the major fixes that have arrived with Battlefield 2042 update 3.1, we have audio improvements to improve the sound experience on all platforms. This pretty wide-sweeping change has affected the audio design in multiple areas.
There are multiple improvements for the sound design when it comes to how clear everything sounds in the game to the right distance perception for sound effects and even the direction of the sound you are hearing. This should help ensure that players know where something is coming from and how far away it is.
Last Update for the Year
Unfortunately, that is it for the smaller update 3.1, which makes sense after following up on the massive 3.0 we had last week. While this is understandable, it does mean that it will likely be some time until we get the next major patch for Battlefield 2042.
After all, when we first heard about the changes on the way for the game, it was made clear that there were maybe three updates left that would arrive before the end of the year. One came out the week of Thanksgiving, another came last week, and there was still a chance for one more.
Unfortunately, it does look like this is the third and final update for the year. With the holidays here, the developer is taking a much-needed break and vacation, but this also means that the community will have to wait sometime for the next bit of changes to arrive in the title.
Next year, though, in 2022, players can look forward to lots of changes right out of the gate, including fresh eyes on the road for the first season for Battlefield 2042 and everything that will come along with
it. If you want to find out more about the changes in this update, be sure to check it all out right here on the EA Blog and keep sending feedback to the publisher about changes you want in the game.
