Battlefield 2021 May Be Coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day 1
Xbox Game Pass is already the best deal in gaming and, by the looks of it, it’s about to get even better as Microsoft seems to have yet another ace up its sleeve: Battlefield 2021! Now, adding Outriders on day one is an amazing move — on that, we can all agree, but Battlefield? That’s in a league of its own!
A Game Changer
As far as third-party triple A titles go, Battlefield is about as high-profile as it gets. Adding Battlefield 2021 to the mix (even for a couple of weeks) would surely result in a swarm of new Xbox Game Pass subscribers. This rumor was first mentioned on the Xbox Era podcast, and it quickly caught on like wildfire.
As is so often the case, a couple of industry insiders joined in on the hype train with their own seemingly obvious confirmations, giving this rumor a fair bit of credence in the process. There are but a few IPs that fit the bill. We can only assume that Call of Duty is out of the question given the relationship between Sony and Activision. So, that leaves us with Battlefield — an equally beloved albeit far less (financially) successful franchise.
We know for a fact that Microsoft has more money than they know what to do with and, more importantly, they’ve decided to go on a shopping spree for the ages! Getting Battlefield would be a home run for the Redmond-based tech giant, and this rumor — while somewhat outlandish at first glance — definitely has legs to stand on.
An official reveal for Battlefield 2021 is supposedly slated to happen in May, so we won’t have to wait long to find out what EA and DICE have been working on! Either way, we certainly hope their upcoming first-person shooter comes to Xbox Game Pass — that’s a win-win for everyone involved!
