Apex Legends is now dealing with an exploit that players are using to not only break the game effectively but to win matches in an unfair way that shouldn’t be allowed. The worst part about this is that this isn’t a brand-new exploit, but one players will likely remember.

Apex Legends Wraith Infinite Phasing Glitch Returns

The Apex Legends Wraith infinite phasing exploit is back in the battle royale game, despite being supposedly fixed earlier in the battle royale game’s history. The glitch allows the player to become essentially invincible and unable to be defeated.

The reveal of this returning Wraith infinite phasing glitch comes from a Reddit post. The Reddit user JKG_Cordova posted a video clip on the battle royale game’s official sub-Reddit page that shows this exploit in action.

Like the previous exploit, the player can use Wraith’s tactical ability as many times as they want to. In the short video clip, we see the Reddit user and their teammate near the end of a match on the World’s Edge map in Season 4.

The circle is tiny at this point. The remaining players should all be right in front of each other, given the proximity to one another. The user noted that it was them and their teammate plus another player who happened to be the exploiter.

In the clip, the user and their teammate attempt to survive as the circle continues to close. However, the enemy player zips around the map with ease using the Wraith infinite phasing glitch. It continues until the circle closes while everyone is in the storm.

From here, the match results got decided. The two players on the same team died because of the storm killed them. They lose the match despite outnumbering their opponent. The Wraith infinite phasing allows the player to survive the circle indefinitely.

What This Infinite Phasing Exploit Is

The exploit revolves around infinitely using the Into the Void ability to phase into the void and stay free of damage. The tactical ability that Wraith has allows her to go into the void. While there, she remains free from any damage from the enemies or the storm even.

This allows them to skirt around the map until they can outlive the two players. The Reddit user tried to stop them at the moment that they might come out of the void, throwing down the electric fence as Wattson, but it didn’t work.

The two players might have won the match if this player didn’t use the Wraith infinite phasing exploit. The player noted in their Reddit post that they were literally “robbed from a win” and wondered why the glitch is still available in the game.

Earlier in 2019, the glitch first appeared where players could cancel the animation of Into the Void in a certain way. They could cool down the tactical ability, so they could continuously use it one after another without waiting.

Respawn didn’t take long at that time to acknowledge the bug and fix it so it wouldn’t be available anymore. Unfortunately, we don’t know how this exploit came to be. It could be the same glitch of canceling the animation, but we aren’t sure.

At the time of writing this, Respawn has yet to acknowledge this returning glitch. So there is no telling when a new fix will come. The bug possibly returned due to the Season 4 release, which changed the game significantly.

With a new legend, new weapon, and major map changes to the battle royale game, something in the game’s backend possibly allowed for it to return. Or, someone has come up with a new way of activating this exploit.

What to Do While We Wait for a Fix

Regardless of the reason behind this glitch returning, here’s hoping that Respawn can figure out the issue and solve it soon. In the meantime, players should watch out for enemies actively using this glitch and take certain measures against it.

One way is to report the player. It furthers the chances of Respawn taking notice of this glitch and banning the players from taking advantage of it to win matches like this one. Also, there is a possible gameplay counter to this, but we haven’t confirmed it.

Some players in the comments of the Reddit post note that Revenant’s tactical ability could counter this issue. The new legend in Season 4 can use Silence to stop the abilities of the legends nearby for about 10 seconds.

If done right and timed at the perfect moment, Revenant could cancel out the player’s exploit and buy you enough time to take them out before they can use it again. We don’t know this for sure currently, but the possibility is there.
