Apex Legends Valk, Skunner, and Husaria Characters Leaked
The Iron Crown update for Apex Legends released last week, bringing with it a ton of awesome additions like the Iron Crown event that includes the first ever solo mode for the game. Though it is only for a limited time, the event is welcome for its epic cosmetic skins and other limited edition items.
Though the new limited time solo mode is welcome, it wasn’t the only thing to release with the Iron Crown patch. With the release of this latest update in season two, data miners in the community have found that Respawn Entertainment released a ton of new data into the game’s files.
As such, it comes as no surprise that the data miners are pouring through the data as you read this to find more information about what’s to come in the game’s future. The biggest notable data found thus far are new character leaks that we didn’t know about previously and new information about previously known leaks.
To be exact, players in the community have found a whopping 14 leaked characters and counting thus far including Revenant whom we covered recently. Since then, data miners like The Gaming Merchant and others have been tirelessly digging their way through the new character leaks one at a time.
Apex Legends Valk Character Leak Detailed
The latest of these to be discovered and detailed by The Gaming Merchant is the new Apex Legends Valk character. Valk is known in the game files at this time as the “Soaring Aviator” and is probably a very early character at this time. After all, there are no movement sound files, character model, or anything available for Valk currently.
With such little information available for Apex Legends Valk right now, it’s clear that they are a character who is meant to be released quite a long time from now. It is even possible that they could be scrapped in the future since there are a whopping 14 characters in the game files at this time.
But what we do know at the very least are the general abilities that Apex Legends Valk will potentially have in the game. Interestingly enough, the Soaring Aviator title isn’t just for show as Valk will be an intriguing aerial fighter who will bring some unique gameplay to King’s Canyon.
The first ability up is Valk’s passive ability that is active at all times and doesn’t require pressing a button to use. Their passive ability is called Afterburners and makes Valk and their teammates fly faster when they are skydiving towards the ground.
Now, you might think that this would affect the skydiving portion at the beginning of the match but that isn’t the case currently. The Afterburners passive ability only affects Valk and their teammates after they have already dropped unto the map.
From there, if you happen to use the hot air balloons around the map to fly up and then start skydiving again, you will be able to experience the passive ability from Valk. What makes this new character interesting, though, is their tactical ability that could shake up gameplay significantly.
Apex Legends Valk’s tactical ability is called VTOL Jets, which may sound familiar to those players who checked out Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall games. The description that is given in the game files for VTOL Jets is a simple one that only states that you can hold down the required button to hover.
This is similar to the VTOL Hover ability that was in Titanfall 2 where the player could hover for a brief period of time in the game. It is likely that the VTOL Jets that Valk has will be a similar situation. Players might be able to fly up and hover around with possibly slower movements in the air for a bit.
How Valk Could Work With a Team
This could open up some new gameplay strategies as you could fly up to dodge enemies or scout out for what’s going on around you. This could make Valk a strong scout team player, much like in the case of the also recently revealed Revenant character.
But where Valk truly shines is in their ultimate ability called Skyward. This is where the passive ability truly comes into play. When you activate Skyward, a short countdown will appear before you and your teammates fly up into the sky, allowing you to redeploy from almost anywhere on the map.
This takes the idea of movement that Pathfinder has and elevates it to a whole new level, literally. The usefulness of the Skyward ultimate ability can’t be understated. With this ability, players will then be able to escape bad situations where you might be surrounded and the like, for instance.
Better yet, it allows you to spend more time exploring and getting gear since Valk can just redeploy everyone with Skyward whenever it comes time to escape the circle closing in. Even aggressive teams could use this ultimate ability rather well for getting more kills than ever before.
Teams can have their Valk redeploy them and they can go flying right into the middle of the next fight even after having exhausted all of the possible kills in one area. The utility of Valk’s ability is vast and will ensure that there will be more zipping around the map than ever before if the character releases just like this.
Apex Legends Husaria Character Leak Detailed
However, The Gaming Merchant didn’t just stop with the leak of Valk either. The YouTuber also released details about another leaked character named Husaria. She is known in the game files as the Hard Breacher and she couldn’t be anymore different than Valk or even Revenant.
Her passive ability is one that allows you to use a shotgun for breaching purposes. How it works is that anytime you melee something like a door or an opponent, the shotgun that is in her calf will fire off at the person or object. This is a fascinating passive that makes her much more aggressive than most.
It also will presumably require the player to have extra shotgun ammo in their inventory at all times so that you are able to make use of this unique melee passive ability when breaching buildings or trying to kill opponents. However, it is possible that you might not need ammo for this, depending on how the ability works.
We also don’t know at this time how powerful the shotgun passive will be. Presumably, it will be enough to blast off the door of any building but how much damage will it do exactly against other players in melee? There is no telling right now but we can’t imagine that it will be an instant kill at least.
Husaria’s tactical ability is also just as interesting and unique in the battle royale game as it is called Flashbang. What it does is allow the player to throw a flashbang grenade that will blind the enemy and create that deafened sound effect for a period of time in the surrounding area.
For the most part, Flashbang will likely work the way that you expect a flashbang grenade to work in a first-person shooter. Despite having grenades and other projectile weapons in the game already, this is the first we’ve heard of a flashbang in Apex Legends.
Since this would be one of Husaria’s main abilities in the game, it is possible that we won’t ever flashbang grenades become a major staple in the available weapons arsenal. Instead, it could just be an exclusive weapon that only players who are using Husaria will be able to use in matches online.
Finally for Husaria, we have her ultimate ability that is called Concussive Breaching Charge (name likely still pending) and it continues the theme of breaching with this “Hard Breacher” character. This is a useful ability that is the cherry on top of the anti-camper abilities that Husaria has.
What Concussive Breaching Charge does is pretty much exactly what the name states. You can go up to a building in the game and use this ultimate ability to plant a breaching charge on the wall or object. When this charge goes off, it will do a variety of things to the building and players inside of it.
How Husaria Could Work in Battle
Upon detonating, the breaching charge will fire off a sonic wave of sorts that will go through the walls and other objects. First and foremost, it will destroy any traps that are inside the building so it will render stuff like Caustic’s gas bombs and possibly Wattson’s pylons inactive as a counter to them.
Then it will also make any doors that are closed on the building open up all at once and, lastly, it will stun enemies in some way to ready them for you to attack. All in all, Husaria seems built as a counter character to other defensive characters in the game as well as those players who like to camp inside buildings.
Her addition to the game will likely change up the meta game significantly, especially when teamed up with the aerial fighter Valk, as you will be able to carry out aggressive kill streaks with ease. All you need to do is use your ultimate to start the fight with someone inside a building, flashbang them, and they are likely as good as dead at that point.
However, that’s still not all for the character leaks this week. Prominent YouTuber and data miner That1MiningGuy posted yet another leak video, detailing the abilities of another leaked character named Skunner. Hopefully, that name will change by the time this character actually releases.
Apex Legends Skunner Character Leak Detailed
In the game’s data, Skunner is known as the “Crafty Trapper” fighter. They make for an interesting character and a counter to other defensive fighters and even some more aggressive hunters like Bloodhound. It all starts with their passive ability in the files that is called Light Step.
What Light Step does is allow the Skunner player to be immune from being slowed down from these things called debris traps and will not leave any marks that can be traced by characters like Bloodhound. Presumably, this passive allows them to not be slowed down by other characters like Wattson, too.
Then there is Skunner’s tactical ability that is called Debris Trap, which is where the new debris trap feature comes into play that is mentioned in the description for their passive ability. What this strange defensive ability does is release some debris of some sort to both damage enemies and slow them down.
This is, presumably, similar in functionality to the pylon electrical fences that Wattson uses currently. This is where their passive ability comes into play as they will be able to move throughout the debris that they created with ease without worrying about being slowed down, too, in the process.
Couple that with the ultimate ability that Skunner has and we have a decent all around defensive character. The ultimate ability that Skunner has is called Schiltrom Barrier Grenade at this time (name likely pending) and sounds as if it will function similarly to the barrier that Gibraltar creates.
What this ultimate ability does is allow the player to aim and throw a grenade that creates some sort of spiked barrier. Being that it is a grenade, you will likely be able to decide where the barrier goes and possibly create it from afar, too. Beyond that, we don’t know much about what makes this shield different from Gibraltar currently makes in the game.
How Skunner Could Work as Part of a Team
Overall, it seems that Skunner will be a very defensive-focused character of sorts, joining the likes of Caustic, Gibraltar, and Wattson. At the same time, they also seem like a solid counter to the other defensive fighters and hunters like Bloodhound.
We could see a great pairing between all of three of these leaked characters. Valk could be great at maneuvering the characters around the map with ease by redeploying and the like while Husaria can breach and help the team aggressively take on campers and other teams all the while Skunner keeps everyone safe.
We will have to wait and see, though, as the fighters are likely going to be a ways away from being released. In addition, there are still several more leaked characters that we haven’t found out about yet so be sure to stay tuned for that.
