Apex Legends Season 10 Release Date Announced
Respawn Entertainment has officially announced the Apex Legends Season 10 release date. Though the current ninth season known as Legacy still has a few more weeks left in it, players can look forward to the 10th season with the first bit of details revealed.
Apex Legends Season 10 Release Date Set for August
On the official EA website for the battle royale title, the Apex Legends Season 10 release date has been revealed. The updated Apex site includes the date on which it will begin, some minor details about the new legend, the map changes we will get, and much more.
The Apex Legends Season 10 release date is currently set for Aug. 3. On that day, the 10th season will begin and usher in some new content for players to check out in the new season, in which the game finally reaches the highly coveted double digits mark.
The 10th season of Apex Legends is officially known as Emergence, continuing the trend started in Season 9 of replacing the normal numbered seasons with a theme name. Like Legacy, Emergence seems to have some implications about what the upcoming season will include.
In terms of Legacy, that name was there to represent the Season 9 legend Valkyrie, who was carrying on her father’s legacy in participating in the Apex Games and foreshadowing the Genesis event that would bring back the legacy versions first two maps.
What We Know About Seer
In the case of the new Apex Legends Emergence season, this theme does not necessarily seem to be revolving around the new legend this time around. The new legend is known as Seer (real name Obi), and he is a mystical legend with glowing blue eyes and small drone companions.
He is a seemingly cursed person from birth who has some blue supernatural powers to use in combat. Not much is known about his ability set other than the fact that he will see what other Apex Legends players are unable to see.
Previous leaks for different-named legends included a character who could see enemy health bars and the location of other players, so there is a chance that this could translate to Seer now. Regardless, we should find out more about him as we get closer to the Apex Legends Season 10 release date.
World’s Edge Map Changes Are Coming in Season 10
Beyond the new legend that will be at the center of the upcoming Apex Legends Season 10, some map changes are always that players can look forward to. This time around, the battle royale location that will focus on the changes will be none other than World’s Edge.
This is no surprise since both Olympus and Kings Canyon have been the focus of the last few seasons since Season 7 introduced the third battle royale map. Since we have not had a World’s Edge-centric season since Season 6, it sounds about time for that to change.
World’s Edge will take center stage once more, with some “major changes” on the way soon when the Apex Legends Season 10 release date drops. Those changes have not been teased in the current announcement of the release date outside of the fact that they will be major.
That said, that does not stop us from looking at what we know about the next season and what is happening in the game currently and putting two and two together to figure out what these changes might be. Overall, it is likely that World’s Edge will have a catastrophic event of its own.
Whether or not it is tied to Seer arriving in the Apex Games, that is something that we will have to wait and see about. Regardless, the Emergence theme is likely tied to the changes that World’s Edge will receive as it currently has earthquakes in matches.
Something underground will either erupt or explode and allow for lava (or perhaps something else entirely) to emerge upon the map. This will change locations completely, likely decimating certain ones and paving the way for others to appear.
Other Content Releasing in Emergence
Overall, we imagine that World’s Edge will become an even more hostile and dangerous place in Season 10 than it is right now. Besides the map changes, there is the usual battle pass, new cosmetics, a new ranked season, and so on that will be in this season.
But the two other special additions in the 10th season are a new weapon and a new type of ranked game mode. The new weapon will be the Rampage LMG, the latest gun that the Apex Games’ resident inventor Rampart has come up with.
The Rampage LMG is touted as having a “surprising” amount of firepower available for it. If it is too powerful, we would not be surprised if this ends up being a supply drop weapon rather than a ground loot one, but we will have to wait to find out more.
And last but not least, ranked battle royale will be joined by the new addition to the competitive playlists with ranked Arena. The Season 9 game mode Arena has quickly become the favorite of many players out there with its intimate three versus three Deathmatch where the stakes are high.
In Season 10, Arena gets excited with the addition of its ranked version. Complete with all of the features from ranked battle royale, it will have different tiers and ranked points that players can earn. This is a great move as Arena has become an even more competitive mode than battle royale for some. Players will be able to check it out and everything else in the new season on Aug. 3.
