Apex Legends Season 10 Maps Rotation Will Finally Include All 3 Maps
Apex Legends is getting ready to enter the 10th season of battle royale content, which includes some map changes. With three maps currently available in the game, the Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation will be just as important as ever before.
Apex Legends Season 10 Maps Rotation Revealed
Fortunately, we now know the full Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation just in time for the season to begin. We have seen from the game thus far in the last few seasons that Respawn Entertainment has been focusing on only allowing players to enjoy two of the three maps at once.
It has been like this since the launch of the third map Olympus in Season 7, making it so that only World’s Edge or Kings Canyon would be available alongside it. As such, it was expected that this upcoming double-digit season would feature only World’s Edge and likely Olympus for now.
However, the Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation has been revealed. It looks like there will be a very different map pool this time around than any other season to date. This is especially great news for players looking forward to checking out the new map changes and their old favorites.
The news was not revealed directly through the patch notes for the new season or even the official Twitter account for Apex Legends, but rather through one of the developers on the multiplayer battle royale game. Dave Osei, a lead level designer at Respawn on Apex Legends, told the community about it on Twitter.
All 3 Battle Royale Maps Will Be Available at Once
Osei noted that the Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation would, for the very first time, include all three of the battle royale maps in the same season at the same time. This is a momentous occasion as it did look like Respawn was getting into this groove of only featuring two at a time.
This has dated back to the introduction of World’s Edge back in the day in Season 3. At first, it was just Kings Canyon; then, with the introduction of the second map, it was switched to only focusing on World’s Edge.
Eventually, it came to the point where both maps could be featured in the same season once the community was used to both of them, but then Season 7 came along and changed everything once more with the introduction of the third map in Olympus.
Since then, it seemed like the status quo would be two of the three maps rotating out each season. Instead, though, the Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation will finally include all three of them. It will be divided up to ensure that everyone can play their favorite map(s).
World’s Edge Will Have a Limited Exclusivity Time Period
The season will begin with an introduction to the main event map that will be the focus of Season 10: World’s Edge. It has been a while since this map has had some major changes. This season will focus on changing much of the climate of the map and adding in new areas to explore and loot.
With World’s Edge as the main event focus of the season in the Emergence, this means that it will be the only battle royale map that will be playable for the very start of Season 10. This may be a bit frustrating for some players who do not love this map, but it will only be happening for a short time.
That time is only for the first week that the Apex Legends Season 10 maps are around. World’s Edge will take a step back after the first week of the season to make way for the maps to join together in a single map rotation that will cycle throughout the season.
Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and Olympus will all be available, but not simultaneously. Every so often (likely every couple of hours, but possibly every other day; we do not know yet), the map will switch to the next one. It will continue through this rotation for the duration of the season.
Map Rotation Times Could Change Based on Feedback
Osei already acknowledged that the Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation time might not be optimal at the launch, so Respawn is willing to adjust and make some changes based on the player feedback given. So, if you think the time is too short, too long, and so on, be sure to let the developer know.
Of course, if you are someone who exclusively wants to enjoy the Season 10 version of World’s Edge, you can likely do that as well in the ranked mode during this season. Presumably, the new version of that map will focus on the ranked mode, or at least one of the two splits in Season 10, so it will be easily available there.
The Apex Legends Season 10 maps rotation is mainly meant for unranked play where the maps will continuously switch around. Keep in mind, though that is only meant for the battle royale experience in Apex Legends. There is still the separate Arenas game mode that you can enjoy.
So, let’s say that there is an available map that you dislike: you can always hop into Arena and play some matches there until the one(s) you prefer shows up in the unranked playlist. For now, this seems like the best solution for appealing to all players in the community.
