Apex Legends Revenant and Loba Updated Abilities Leaked
Apex Legends has gotten tons of leaks over the last several months for the characters, upcoming weapons, events and much more. This is a common thread that ties together most battle royale games like PUBG and Fortnite, but there is one aspect that sets Apex apart.
A massive portion of the game is all about the characters that you can play as in the game. From Mirage to Lifeline, each of the characters have their unique personality, motivations, and, most importantly, abilities. This is what sets this battle royale game apart from the rest.
With the characters and their abilities being such a vital part of the overall meta for the game, it is no surprise that new characters continually leak. Over the past several months, we have seen more than a dozen new characters shown in the game files.
Data Miners Uncover Updated Abilities for Revenant and Loba
Though it has been a while since the latest leaks for the game, a few new character ability kits uncovered in the files. Known data miner in the community and YouTuber ILootGames posted the latest video, covering all of the most recent discoveries.
The latest includes the updated abilities for Apex Legends Revenant and Loba. While we covered Revenant before, this is the first time we see what Loba is all about.
Previously, looked at the Revenant abilities in the game and see how the character plays. In the last few months since the initial massive leak surrounding the character, developer Respawn Entertainment made significant changes.
As for Loba, this character is one that we have at least heard of in the game’s files. Concept art and some barebones information have been available for the new legend. Other than that, we haven’t found out what type of character they are until now.
With this latest leak from ILootGames, we now know the final Apex Legends Revenant abilities and the first glimpse of what type of character Loba is. Without further ado, let’s go ahead and dive right in to see what their kits are like.
Apex Legends Revenant Abilities Slightly Different Than Before
It all starts with Apex Legends Revenant, a character that showed up as part of the previous batch of leaks for the game, abilities and all. This character is regarded as one of the likely candidates for the next legend in the game.
This is made even more likely by the latest discovery in the game files. Revenant has been changed in terms of abilities and works slightly differently than before. Also, the existing abilities we knew about are now more fleshed out and seem ready for release.
It all starts with the passive ability Infiltrator that Apex Legends Revenant has. This is by far the only skill that is roughly the same as it was in a previous leak. Infiltrator makes sure that the character can walk while crouching faster and climb walls even higher.
From here, there are a total of three main tactical abilities that show up in the in-game files for Revenant. It is unlikely that there are three skills this character can use. More than likely, one of them makes it into the real game.
There is the possibility that players can choose their tactical ability for Revenant beforehand. However, we doubt this even though it would be an impressive feature. The first of these three tactical abilities is the one that we covered previously: Mark for Death.
With this ability, Revenant can throw a dagger to mark an enemy player. Players can press the same button for the skill again after launching the dagger to reveal the player’s location for up to 60 seconds. However, the mark automatically removes before then if the target heals themselves back to full health.
Then there is the poison bomb skill that seems the least likely of the three to be the ability for Revenant since it has shown up for a multitude of leaked characters before. All it does is launch a poisonous bomb that deals damage and slows down the targets that it hits.
The third and final tactical ability is a new one. There is a lot of evidence pointing to the true skill that Revenant has in the game. It is called Silence and throws a device that disables the enemy’s abilities for 10 seconds.
This fascinating ability has actual voice lines in the game files for each of the current legends, noting that their abilities have been disabled. This makes the ability seem like it is in the final stages of development.
The final Apex Legends Revenant ability called Death Recall. This is mostly the same as before but with some extra details that round it out. You can drop a totem that protects anyone who uses it from dying.
When you are about to get killed, you teleport back to the totem and have 20 health remaining. There are leaked voice lines for this ability as well that hint at players only being able to use the totem to revive once per use of Death Recall.
Apex Legends Revenant Character Type: Solo vs. Team Player
Overall, the type of character that Revenant is, is largely the same as they were before. They are more of a scout-like member of the team that also doubles as support. This is the kind of character that you want scouting out new areas in front of the rest of the group.
They can move faster in silence as well as silence the enemy itself and make them not use their abilities against them if found. Then if all else fails and they are discovered while sneaking around, they can rely on the totem that they can drop by their team elsewhere.
Even if they were to die while scouting around the map, they can return and still have some life left. In this regard, Revenant is mostly the type of character that is going to work well as a team player. That said, there is a lot of utility for using this character solo as well.
Even if your team is taken out early, you can maneuver around the map a bit easier than some other legends since it is all about stealth. You even have a few counters in the unfortunate case that the enemy discovers you.
Apex Legends Loba Abilities Finally Revealed
The passive skill that Loba has is Burglar’s Best Friend. This is a weird passive ability for the character because it isn’t, well, passive in the slightest.
The description for the ability is that the player can throw some disc object and teleport to that specific location. This doesn’t sound like a passive ability that is always supposed to be active, essentially, without the player having to do anything to activate it.
As such, we suspect this tactical ability for Loba, who seems to be in the early stages of development at this time, unlike Revenant. There is no actual tactical ability detailed in the in-game files, so we expect that Burglar’s Best Friend is the tactical and the actual passive is missing at this time.
The only other ability that we know about for Loba is their ultimate skill that is known as Black Market Boutique. This is another weird skill that lets you place a device that can steal all the nearby loot. At first glance, this sounds lame and useless, but it depends on how it works.
If Loba can steal all the loot from the nearby enemies in a certain vicinity around the device, that would make this ultimate very impressive. Imagine suddenly losing your golden armor, weapons and ammo because of Loba’s ultimate.
Apex Legends Loba Character Type: Solo vs. Team Player
Loba is a strange character like Revenant that has a playstyle that is unique compared to the rest of the legends in the game. Loba seems like the Catwoman thief sort of character. It is hard to tell how that plays out in the current meta for the game.
If we had to guess, Loba would be a great versatile character that would do well in teams but also on their own, too. They can support teams by teleporting and maneuvering around with ease while gathering up loot with their five-finger discount for the team to use, which is always a great thing to have.
But at the same time, Loba will be a solid choice for players who must go solo for one reason or another. They can get in and out of bad combat situations with relative ease while also gearing up when in a tight situation by stealing from the enemy.
When We Could See These Characters Release
With the details about Loba and Revenant now revealed, when will we see these legends release in the game? If you are interested in the thought of being a cat burglar who is just an all-around nuisance for the enemy teams, you have to wait a while to play this character.
The fact that we don’t have Loba’s full kit yet tells us it’ll likely be a long time before this Catwoman-like character joins the ever-growing legends.
Revenant is likely to be one of the next characters to join the game. With voice lines and other details already provided in the game files, it seems like development is nearing its end for them.
If the past schedule for releasing legends is to be believed, we don’t expect to see Revenant come out until the start of Season 4. We could see the release before then, but it is more plausible that Respawn will wait until the new season to show off the shadowy legend, just like when Crypto was released.
