Apex Legends Octane Selfie Emote & More Leak
With the news of Season 4, the new legend, and more coming out today, the latest info for Apex Legends isn’t about to stop anytime soon. The latest batch of info comes from one of the most renowned and trustworthy data miners for the battle royale game.
Data Miner Discovers New Type of Emotes
Data miner iLootGames recently revealed a new type of emote cosmetic item joining the game soon. This would likely launch with the start of the upcoming fourth season and would allow players to pull off some sweet tricks in matches.
That data miner recently discovered some skydiving emote available starting in the next season of the free-to-play battle royale game. The new emote type would work as it sounds in the name of it.
Players can pull off these emotes while they are skydiving at the start of the match. This likely also includes other moments of skydiving like when you grab onto the hot air balloon rope and are launched into the sky so that you can reach other areas.
While you are skydiving in these moments, the player can use one of these emotes to make hilarious gestures and taunt their enemies and even teammates. So far, there are only a few characters with one of these emotes.
For some odd reason, the skydiving emotes are seemingly tied to only one legend in the roster as a sort of exclusive item. One is the Apex Legends Octane selfie emote that you might have heard of in the past.
Four Known Emotes for Caustic, Crypto, Octane, and Wraith
There are four new skydiving emotes that the data miner discovered in the recent game files. They are specific to Caustic, Crypto, Octane, and Wraith currently. There is no word or files presently about whether the rest of the legends will get a similar option for them.
ILootGames posted on their Twitter account the screenshot of the in-game files that they recently scoured through on the PC version of the game. It shows the four skydiving emotes along with the name of them. For the Caustic skydiving emote, the name of it is currently known as barrel roll.

This is both hilarious and awesome as it means that Caustic will be able to actually “do a barrel roll.” This is most likely a nice reference to the popular Nintendo meme from the beloved Nintendo 64 game Star Fox 64 where one of the characters notoriously says, “do a barrel roll!”
This skydiving emote would most likely see Caustic physically roll over while diving down to the surface of the map. We wouldn’t be surprised if this came with a witty quip from Caustic or even one of his teammates when you use this emote in a match.
Crypto is next and has a skydiving emote known as Top Gun. Like the barrel roll emote, this one is likely a reference to something else. This one is even more obvious as there is a famous movie with that same title to it. In it, the character is an aviation pilot.
In a way, Crypto is a pilot himself but with his trusty drone. Then there is the fact that this is activated while you are in the air. We can only imagine what this emote will mean at this time. But, it is possibly going to have some reference to the popular Tom Cruise movie that has a sequel on the way.
Octane Selfie Emote Rumored to Finally Release
Apex Legends Octane selfie emote is the third emote. It appeared in numerous artworks as well as an image that data miners previously revealed to be likely a screenshot of actual gameplay footage.
Because of this, the community expected this emote to become a real thing. It looks like the teases become official soon. The Apex Legends Octane selfie emote is an integral part of his character, after all.
Octane’s backstory is of a daredevil who likes to do crazy stunts. Not only does he do these things, but he is sure to take a selfie or stream them for his fans to also see it. This led to an unfortunate accident where he lost his legs and had to get the cybernetic ones.
As such, having the Apex Legends Octane selfie emote allows fans of the character to more emulate his personality itself. But that isn’t the only emote either as there is one other one discovered in the game files.
The last one goes to Wraith and is by far the most obscure one that we aren’t entirely sure about just yet. It is a ninja emote. This doesn’t tell us anything about it at all. It will likely be something that a ninja could be known to do, but we can’t think of anything like that while in the air.
In addition to finding the in-game files for these skydiving emotes, two of them already have icons in the files to designate them in the user interface. This plus the fact that all four files are video ones, which makes sense since these are emote animations.
When We Could See These Emotes Release
We presume that the four emotes will be added to the game at the launch of the fourth season. Respawn recently confirmed that the Season 4 launch will happen on February 4. Stay tuned for more info regarding the upcoming season, including these new emotes.
