Apex Legends Octane Heirloom and Gibraltar Legendary Skin Leaked

by in Apex Legends | Feb, 25th 2020

After recent leaks for Apex Legends, including weapons and more, new leaks have already sprung. These came after the recent update for the game’s servers that released new game files for data miners to sift through. The latest batch of leaks, though, is all about cosmetic items.

New Legendary Gibraltar Skin Leaks

Trustworthy data miner for Apex Legends, iLootGames, recently posted about new items found in the game files. While not as monumental as the weapons discovered in the same update, fans of Gibraltar and Octane will be happy to know these items.

According to iLootGames, the new Gibraltar skin potentially comes to the game soon. The new skin for the defensive tank is not just a file in the game with a name but a skin model that iLootGames showed off in a tweet.

Data miner iLootGames called the model Captain Gibby which could be the actual name for the skin. But, we presume this was just a joke on the leaker’s part. Regardless, the skin reportedly is going to be the new legendary one.

In this purple and gold skin, Gibraltar is almost completely unrecognizable with a new hairstyle. In this skin, the character is bald and has fancy futuristic purple and gold armor with black accents.

What the Gibraltar Skin Looks Like

Meanwhile, the signature shield that Gibraltar uses in battle looks like a muted gold, giving this whole look a snazzy, sleek feel to it that is quite different from the regular skins that Gibraltar gets. The legs of the skin give off some robotic vibes.

The way the kneecap armor points upward is highly reminiscent of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series, as that is how many of the Gundam robots look on their legs. This is all brought together with a unique look to Gibraltar’s face.

Not only is the character bald, but his eyes look yellow and menacing. In this way, he gives off an otherworldly Wraith-like vibe that could mean some sinister things might have happened to the fan-favorite tank shielding hero in Apex Legends.

The reported legendary Gibraltar skin would be the 12th one that is exclusive to the character and not shared by anyone else. Given that the in-game model is already there, it is likely that development on the skin is nearing completion and that we could see it release very soon.

Apex Legends Octane Heirloom Set Also Leaks

The sleek new Gibraltar legendary skin is far from the only thing that iLootGames revealed. Fans of the fast-paced Octane will be happy about the Apex Legends Octane heirloom set reportedly leaked for the game.

followed up the new Gibraltar skin tweet with the in-game image of the Apex Legends Octane heirloom melee weapon. The new melee cosmetic item reportedly appeared in the game files following the recent server update.

The unique heirloom features a signature green and silver look that fits the speedy legend Octane well. Like the other heirlooms, it takes the knife look and makes it something completely different.

In this case, it appears to be a butterfly knife of sorts. Data miner iLootGames noted this in the original tweet, stating this will likely lead to “some interesting animations.” Since it looks like a switchblade or butterfly knife, we can only imagine the antics that Octane will get up to with it in the battle royale game.

The reveal of the Apex Legends Octane heirloom weapon hints at the full set, also coming out for the character soon. After all, an heirloom is only complete with the full set of melee cosmetic weapon, quip, and pose. Unfortunately, it seems that the game files for those aren’t available yet.

How and When to Possibly Unlock the Heirloom Set

It could mean that the Apex Legends Octane heirloom set isn’t ready to release at this time. It will likely not happen until all three game models or files are available. But it does mean that a future event could see the release of the set.

The Octane heirloom set would be the fifth to appear following characters like Bloodhound, Lifeline, Pathfinder, and Wraith. This would make Octane the first post-launch character to get one, too. This is interesting since original characters like Caustic don’t have one.

The heirloom sets are highly sought after by players as they are the absolute rarest cosmetic items. You can’t unlock them by crafting or buying the heirloom sets, regardless of how much money you’d be willing to spend.

Instead, you can get the heirloom sets in Apex Legends by finding them in the Apex crates. The chances are low, but it can increase the more Apex packs that you open in the battle royale game.

If you open 500 Apex packs, you get at least one heirloom set during that time. However, there is no telling which one you will get. Unfortunately, 500 happens to be quite a lot for these otherwise unviewable cosmetic items.

Stay tuned for announcements about when to Apex Legends Octane heirloom set or the new legendary Gibraltar skin. There will likely be an event soon, perhaps at the midway point or near the end of Season 4.
