Apex Legends Error 100 Explained: EA Games Having Problems

by in Apex Legends | Feb, 18th 2020

If you were to try and play Apex Legends right now, you might find yourself unable to do so due to a rampant error affecting almost every player in the game. The widespread Apex Legends error 100 code affects everyone on all three platforms of PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Apex Legends Error 100 Code Affects Everyone

Players are logging in only to find the Apex Legends error 100. If you’ve played the game since it came out in 2019, you know this isn’t an unfamiliar error code. We’ve dealt with this problem in the past. And like before, the cause of this error code is likely the same.

If you try and log in right now, you likely won’t get into the main battle royale lobby at all. Instead, you get the Apex Legends error 100: “unable to complete EA account sign in.”

It gives you a link to find out more information about the error code and allows you to retry. Unfortunately, retrying gets you nowhere since the issue is with the EA servers.

Like in the past, the Apex Legends error 100 code means a problem with the EA servers that connect players to the online game. When servers have issues, it gives this code indicating the problem has nothing to do with you.

Before attempting to reboot the game, your system, internet, and so on, keep in mind that it doesn’t fix this problem. Unfortunately, you have to wait for EA and Respawn to fix this.

EA Is Currently Working on Fixing It

Thankfully, though, the official EA Help Twitter page acknowledged the rampant issue affecting players around the world. The Twitter account tweeted about the problem, noting the team is “aware of a problem currently impacting EA and EA Help services.”

According to EA Help, players might have trouble trying to reach the player support and get help with problems. The bright side of this, though, is a fix is on the way.

The EA Help continued in its tweet by noting that the team is “working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible” and will keep players informed on the status of the fix. The official Apex Legends Twitter account shared the tweet from EA Help so that players know what’s going on. The situation isn’t just affecting players who like the popular battle royale game but other EA online titles as well.

Apex Legends Isn’t the Only EA Game Affected

Some players trying to access the online matches for FIFA 20 and are finding that the soccer game isn’t ready for them. It asks players to sign back into the game to access the online features in an endless loop of unresponsiveness.

Furthermore, players who jump online with Star Wars Battlefront 2 also deal with similar problems. Players can’t play online matches in that game, either. All three games have the commonality of being EA-published online games.

The Apex Legends error 100 not only affects these three games but also other games like Battlefield V and the Respawn-developed Titanfall 2. With such a massive problem, there is no telling how long it could take to fix this.

The issue may be larger than just one game’s servers going down for a couple of hours. In the meantime, while we wait for more info, walk away from Apex Legends and any other EA online multiplayer games.

It is an unfortunate “solution” since there is nothing else you can do right now. However, we recommend this at this time. If you are trying to play other games besides Apex Legends, though, offline modes exist in games like FIFA 20 and Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Sadly, for Apex Legends players, there is no such offline mode for this game. The training mode, played solo without anyone else around, requires an internet connection to truly enjoy since you can’t get into the main lobby.

We suspect that just about every available developer around EA is working on this problem currently, so, hopefully, a fix happens soon. While we wait for more news, keep an eye here and on the EA Help Twitter account page for more announcements regarding the status of this massive issue.
