$75k Up For Grabs in Playstation EVO Community Tournament Series

EVO is coming to the Playstation, with an awesome series of open-format tournaments with cash on the line! Anyone who plays fighting games probably knows EVO – the Evolution Championship Series. It’s the biggest fighting game tournament in the world without question. As Sony acquired EVO, it’s time to see them come together for some awesome fighting game tournaments. The EVO Playstation tournaments are starting on June 10th, and you won’t want to miss any of the action. If you think you have what it takes, there are more than 120 tournaments around the globe, with 74,000 in prizes for them.

100+ Hours of Broadcasts, Three Tournaments:


Now, this is exciting news! Streaming across YouTube and Twitch for Playstation, and the official EVO Twitch, three EVO Playstation tournaments will be taking place. FGC Arcade EVO Edition, EVO Warm-Up Rounds, and EVO Side Tournaments are the events you can take part in. Just about every modern fighting game will be present in one form or another. The only catch is that you have to have an active PS Plus membership, be 18+, and be a member of an eligible country. You can find the full rules here.

That’s the best part about this. You can just enter! You don’t have to travel around the world, pay an entry fee. You don’t have to be the greatest fighting game player in the world. After all, you can only get better by playing people as good or better than you. The first event is Playstation Tournaments FGC Arcade: EVO Edition, going between June 10 – June 22nd. North American and European players are able to take part, and there’s a 20,000 USD global prize pool. What games can you take part in? Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Guilty Gear STrive, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, and Tekken 7.

Sorry, Street Fighter V fans, but you have to wait for EVO Warm-Up Rounds, from June 26 – July 13. A wider audience can take part, in North American, European, Latin American, Middle Eastern and Asian region players are allowed to play. A 19,000 dollar global prize pool awaits players in Guilty Gear Strive, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, and Tekken 7. If you’re a fan of EVO, this is a great way to find out what it feels like to be playing the biggest and best.

Finally, from July 8th until August 3rd, there’s EVO Side Tournaments. North American, European, Latin American, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Japanese region players can join in. Oh my goodness, so many games! The following games will have side tournaments with a total of a 35,000 dollar global prize pool:  BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Maxi Boost ON, Skullgirls 2nd Encore, Soulcalibur VI, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]. All of this helps bring fighting game players closer together as EVO 2021 comes closer.
