2K Set to Unveil New Franchise This Month
2k seems to be making the rounds online recently following the announcement of a new franchise in their quarterly earnings call, as it’s the time for companies to come out and start putting their earnings call in for the quarter of the year, and while some companies like Activision are doing damage control in their calls, 2k is announcing new titles during their call.
What Can We Expect?
During the Call, Take-Two, 2k’s parent company, Mentioned that they’re going to unveil details on a new franchise, which is planning to launch during the fiscal year. For those who are unfamiliar with how the fiscal year works, The fiscal year starts and ends on March 31st, instead of the calendar year, which ends on December 31st. Companies will do quarterly calls, and 2K has let their investors know that something is coming, and for fans joining in on the call, they’re expecting it too. So when more information comes out about the game aside from what’s been put in the call, the franchise is going to be announced this month, as the game is going to launch before March of this year.
So, what’s known about the game that planning to be announced this month? The game is listed as “immersive core” which is big news for fans, as the type of game is going to be similar to the likes of titles such as NBA 2K22, WWE 2K22, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. While the first two seem like normal sports titles, the final one, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is more in line with games that fans of 2K publishing are familiar with, and a new franchise isn’t going to be a rehash of a sports title, as most of the major titles have already been taken, with MLB the Show, Madden, and NHL, still being made.
However, there’s not much more information than that, speculation aside, this franchise could be anything, but the fact is that immersive core titles are something that a lot of fans are familiar with, and it’s going to be a AAA title rather than a side project for some of 2K’s developers. Regardless, the new franchise is going to be announced next month, and by March, the game is going to be in the hands of players.
