2021 NBA 2K League Season Kicks Off on May 19
There are some big changes coming to the NBA 2K League and its 2021 competitive season, and we’ve got the nitty-gritty down below! First of all, the 16-week season will commence on May 19 with The Tipoff (the first of three in-season tournaments) and will conclude on September 4 with the 2021 NBA 2K League Finals.
Twenty-three teams will compete throughout this period with each of them playing 28 regular season games. But perhaps the most important change is that the NBA 2K League will be divided into two separate “regions:” the Eastern and the Western Conference. Naturally, each team will compete within its own conference but also against teams from the other one as well.
You can find a full breakdown of each conference down below:

Competitive Season Changes
For the first time ever starting on August 26th, twelve teams (instead of ten) will have the opportunity to compete and prove their worth on the biggest of stages.
The season itself will once again be comprised of three separate in-season tournaments: The Tipoff, The Turn, and The Ticket. All twenty-three teams will compete in the first two, with the top five from each conference getting direct seeding into the NBA 2K League playoffs. The remaining 13 teams will then compete in the third and final in-season tournament (The Ticket), with the winning team from each conference filling out the last two remaining spots in the playoffs.
Regular season games will be streamed on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with “four distinct match-ups each night.” All matches will be played in a two-game format, and you’ll be able to catch all the action on either Twitch or YouTube! Needless to say, these are all hugely exciting changes and they should, by all means, make the 2021 season of the NBA 2K League one to remember!
